Advantages: All in one, birth to potty, nice designs.
Disadvantages: Have to buy boosters seperately.
I am a mum of three and a long term cloth nappy user so I have had a fair amount of experience in using cloth nappies and I am delighted with the new V3 Tots Bots Easyfits. Some improvements over the V2 are a choice of aplix (velcro) or popper fastenings, terry backed minkee rather than bamboo inner, softer lining and they are faster drying.
These nappies contain multiple layers of absorbent minkee and microfibre material in the form of a long soaker that folds back onto itself and is tucked inside the nappy, I find this really easy to use and is absorbent enough for my 5 month old although you can add bamboo boosters (available from Tots Bots directly costing £7.50 for a pack of 3), I expect I will need to add these as my daughter grows but we have had no leaks as yet.
The inner is held by a waterproof cover that stretches with the nappy, which is suitable for babies weighing 10-35lbs. The rise is adjustable with poppers and the leg holes and back are elasticated to give a snug fit. I find that the back elastic is perfect for containing a "pooplosion" that breast fed babies are expert at!
I definitely prefer to use the aplix fastening over the poppers as I feel I get a better, more snug fit. I think the aplix makes them more user friendly for a first time cloth user and my husband prefers it because he says he finds the poppers difficult to fasten with his less than nimble fingers!
Each nappy comes with a reusable fleece liner which is essential to use in my opinion as it protects your child's skin from direct contact with the absorbent part of the nappy. This will help prevent nappy rash and as most nappy rash creams are not compatible with cloth nappies (they hinder absorption) prevention is better than cure.
Tots Bots Easyfit V3 are priced from £14.99 to £16.99 depending on design so while they aren't the cheapest option I feel they are worth it because of ease of use and absorbency.
Some of mine came from the Tots Bots clearance section on their website, this provided a more affordable way to build up a stash so I wasn't washing them everyday. The condition of most of these nappies is perfect, I can't see why they were in the clearance! Others have a bit of fading, one had a small dirty mark that washed out and another has the care label missing, none of these "defects" affect the functionality of the nappy so it's well worth keeping an eye out for clearance offers.
Summary: These are my preferred reusable nappy because they are absorbent and a good fit.
