Tot bots.
Yes I am going to be talking about nappies, tot bots reusable nappies.
Changing my grandson at the weekend I realised I have yet to write a review on the nappies he wears.
I am proud of my daughter using reusable nappies as so many disposable nappies are used that fill so many landfill sites. Reusable nappies are much better for the environment.
There are several makes of reusable nappies available and after a lot of thought and research she decided Tot bots were best for her use.
Tot bots are shaped fitted terry nappies made in 2 sizes. The thick terry towelling is 80% cotton 20% polyester.
The nappy is made of three layers of towelling and has an attached booster layer that is in a position that absorbs most wee.
These nappies are shaped just like a disposable and have elasticised waist and legs for a snug fit.
These nappies are easy to put on baby no folding into kites.
You can buy either white nappies or unbleached nappies, which are a cream colour. There are also pastel coloured nappies available too.
Tot bots come in 2 sizes. Size 1 for a 7-20lb baby and has an extra fleece liner stitched in. these have either a Aplix, Velcro strip to attach them or you can get them without and use a nappy nipper, no more nappy pins to stick into baby.
Size 2 fits baby size 18-35lb comes withy same fitting options. If you use ones without Aplix fastening and fold it and fix it tight around baby it will be fine for smaller baby and be suitable for birth to potty training days.
There is also a size 3 available for a bigger tot maybe useful for nighttimes.
Cost from www.twinkle for 1 nappy size 2 is £7.25 non-Aplix fitting £7.75 with Aplix fastenings.
There are other web sites selling these nappies at similar prices for example www.natrually nappies who sell size ones at 6.75 for non Aplix 7.25 without Aplix size 2 £7.25, with Aplix £7.75. Bleached or unbleached are the same price.
To fit non-Aplix nappies use a nappy nippa they are great much better than nappy pins
Over the top of the nappy you need to put a wrap a wrap is a polyurethane coated breathable polyester outer cover for nappy this stops the moisture coming through the nappy Tot bots make these but you can use other makes too.
These nappies should survive more than 1 baby in fact the resale price is good. Some of Adrians nappies are beginning to wear thin though , not many but some are maybe they got a lot of use. Sally puts disposables on Adrian when she is going out for a day as they are more convenient but overall finds using reusable ones good . Thanks for reading . Nappy days love from , Mary
