Advantages: shaped like a disposable so easy to put on, Sewn-in booster, Re-usable!

Disadvantages: Pinning down a wriggly baby to get the fit right

I'm a new cloth convert but the transition from disposable to cloth could not have been easier using Tots Bots.

The TotsBots nappy is a multi layer shaped nappy with a sewn-in booster which is only fastened down at the front so it can be folded to the front for a boy, or to the middle for a girl or just laid flat if you don't need the boost (great idea!). I believe the first sized TotsBots comes with a fleece-topped booster sewn in though the 2nd size can be folded down for use from newborn.

My son is 12 months old and I went for the size 2, non-aplix version and use Nappi-Nippa's to fasten them and the Air-Rikka wrap over the top (the waterproof layer).

From new, the nappies need a couple of washes before they reach their full absorbancy and being multi-layered they do take a while to dry, but on the outside line they're dry by afternoon and in the tumble dryer they do need a little extra time to get the elasticated legs & waist fully dry.

For night-time use I add a booster pad, though I'm not sure that he would need it, but I've not dared not put it in....just in case!

When I first started to use them I was surprised at how big my sons' bottom looked and some of his trousers no longer fitted, but this was easily solved by going up a size and now I'm happy and he's happy too.

All in all a snug-fitting value for money nappy.
