So, The whole world is Toy Story mad at the moment because of Toy story 3, and my household is no different. My toddler wants everything toy story, from bags, to pjamas, and we watch all 3 dvds over and over!
Now bathtime is one of my sons favorite times, but he hates be washed down, to him, bath time = play time (which is fine, but to get him clean is a bonus!)
For Christmas he opened 'a buzz lightyear mummy'. He was so pleased, at first thinking it was a teddy bear.
When i told him he could take it in the bath, he was over the moon.
This squeegee is around £4 and as far as i am aware can be bought from the larger pharmacies, and supermarkets as well as online. This Buzz is around 2ocm tall, complete with 2 legs, 2 arms and an oversized head.
The material is kind of a smooth, silky fabric and has all the markings you would expect Buzz to have. HIs boots and buttons and outfit, all in the colours you would expect Buzz lightyear to be wearing. If i am being honest though, although the markings and colourings are the same, i dont think that he really looks like buzz, rather a cheesy gameshow host!! None the less, My son knew who he was supposed to be straight away!
Buzz is stuffed and almost to the point of bursting, there really does not seem to be any give in it at all. yes, his legs and arms flap about, but to hold it, he feels very firm!
ONce my son had him in the bath, he began brushing his teeth (or cheesy smile to me and you) and helping him 'swim' from one end of the bath to the other. It seemed to be a really great bath toy. In essence though, this product has been labelled a sponge.
As a sponge, i dont think that it really deserves the name. Bath toy, great, sponge, not so. It seems too firm and doesnt seem to have a large enough surface area to wash properly. I have used gels and soap bars, and neither seem to give a good enough lather to clean the skin effectively. A real shame. Your hand would wash more effectively.
Its a real shame, because if this was labelled a bath toy, i would be giving it 5/5. Great fun, durable and lasting, and is great because my son will roleplay, ehich in turn helps me. He will brush Buzz's 'teeth', and then his own!
As a sponge though, it just doesnt effectively lather and cleanse the skin, so 3/5!
