Advantages: variety of uses and quite cheap

Disadvantages: skin may look oily

Vaseline is a clear petroleum jelly, and one of the best "beauty" products ive used!
I keep it at the front of my dressing table..and use it every day without fail!

I started using it quite a few years ago - a friend had recommended it at the time, so i went out to buy it....and ive used it ever since! never have i once had a problem with it!

Advantages

-- soothes chapped skin and lips. As well as this, it can be used as a substitute for lip gloss, as it has the same shine...

-- apparently, advised by my beautician, you shouldnt use it on ur face apart from your lips, as you could get blackheads, which you dont really want do u?!

-- you really could use it as an alternative to mascara if you want to go for the more natural look! (said beautician)
ive tried it! and yes it works - isnt hard to remove at all, so girls you dont need to go and get some eye make-up remover or anything like that!
however, if you do have mascara at home, i think you would prefer that!

-- ive got eczema on the elbow areas, and i find vaseline very helpful in reducing the dryness and also stops me itching! so as you can see, its not only for use on lips, it is good at softening drier parts of the body too.

-- it helps prevent nappy rash

-- soothes minor burns

-- when applied, a second application is not required, so its effect is quite long-lasting

Disadvantages:

-- -- if you do decide to use it on your face, however, make sure you dont apply too much, because your face could look very oily...

What size do you want?

You get many different sizes!

1) industrial size (425g) dont have a clue how much it is
But with this size you really wouldnt need to buy another tub for years! i bought mine a couple of years ago, and its still got over half left! not forgetting i use it everyday....
2) smaller size (225g) - £1.95 (Boots)
This would still last you a long time, and the price is quite reasonable
3) even smaller! (100g) - £0.93 (Boots)
This would probably be the best option if you dont need to use vaseline too much and also because you pay less than the pocket size one -i really dont understand the pricing!
4) pocket size (20g) - £0.96 (Boots)
This is the most efficient size as you can carry it with you wherever you go, in your purse, pocket, whatever! It is especially for lip therapy, which reduces lip chapping by quite a reasonable degree.

Conclusion = i would strongly recommend this product to anyone, as the advantages very much outweigh the disadvantage, and there is a wide range of possible uses....
But do keep it away from children, as it may look edible to them!

Summary: useful for many things - recommended product

I use vaseline quite a lot, but I've never even thought of using it instead of mascara! I might have to try, just for the sake of it... :)
