Advantages: Probably the most versatile product!
Disadvantages: Absolutely Nothing!
A vaseline...probably my best friend in the whole world and a constant in my make up bag, replaced as soon as it runs out and something which I never EVER leave the house without!
Availability & Prices
Firstly this is a cheap product and for its many uses it is ALWAYS worth investing under £1 for a big tub of the stuff. 50g tubs or 100g tubs are between 80p and £1 in Tesco at the moment (I'm just back from Tesco replacing many run out items!!). The little handy ti, I have millions of these usually one per bag, is usually around 60p - 80p. Not expensive at all as it really is such a versatile product.
Available almost anywhere, all supermarkets, all pharmacies, you can usually pick it up in petrol stations (although it will be a bit dearer).
A variety of uses
This product has many uses, some of which I am going to detail now.
Firstly, for dry skin. I find it is one of the only great cures of dry lips. I have tried other brands and other supposedly "miracle cures" but this is by far the best. Perfect if you suffer from dry or chapped lips often and no matter how much you keep applying it it never seems to do any damage. As well as dry lips it is also brilliant if you have the cold, as blowing your nose to often can make underneath your nostrils quite dry and sore - vaseline will sort that out for you! Also any other dry skin on your body for instace knees or elbows slap a bit on, works a treat!
Another fantastic use is for removing eye makeup, I find alot of eye makeup removers can be quite expensive and dont really work overly well and make you use up about 20 cotton wool balls! Rub a bit of vaseline over ur eyelids and on your eye lashes and rub it off with either a baby wipe (I use huggies pure water baby wipes) or a peice of tissue. Gently and very effectively removes all traces of mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow.
Vaseline is an intense moisturiser and is fabulous as an aid to a weekly skin care regime. Once a week I use it on my whole face as an intense moisturiser. Rub a NOT thick layer over your face and leave on for 15 mins, after this time use an exfoliater and exfoliate over the vaseline then wipe off with a tissue. Leaves face with completely unclogged pores and glowing!
Finally, use it on broken skin to stop infections. This was vaselines original use. Any broken skin whether on your face or hands stick a bit of vaseline on it this stops any germs getting into it, keeps it clean and creates a kind of invisible plaster.
In conclusion...
It might be a by-product of stinky expensive petrol, but hey its a cheap, cheerful alternative to expensive intensive moisturisers; a fabulous makeup remover; an invisible plaster; and an aid to clear up dry skin. What more do you want for under a wee gold coin!
Thanks for reading!
Summary: Cheap and cheerful make up bag must have!
