Many, many years ago, way back in the 1800`s a chap called Robert Chesebrough discovered an all natural product that when used on cuts and burns seemed to heal, he named his new discovery Vaseline and all these years later we are still using it for those things but also for much, much more.

I wonder if MR Chesebrough could have imagined even in his wildest dreams that all these years on in 2009 we would be using his discovery to stop our lips from chapping, smearing it on babies bums to help sooth nappy rash and even using it to lubricate certain body parts when partaking in certain sexual activities (well so I have been told).

You can buy Vaseline in small tins now designed to be carried for use on chapped lips or you can buy it in the larger tubs for keeping at home where it has dozens of uses. It is a fairly inexpensive product and you can buy a 50g tub of it from Asda for a mere 90p.

A friend of mine swears on using Vaseline after sunbathing to help stop peeling skin and to sooth any itches or burning she might have if she has overdone it a bit and my mum has used it for years to help prevent tough dry skin on the soles of her feet so you can see it really is a versatile product.

The only thing I am not keen on is the smell of it but I know people that love the smell of it so that is very much a everyone to their own type situation.

I am sure everyone has used Vaseline at some point or another but if you have not and you suffer from chapped lips, have a baby with nappy rash, have hard skin on your feet or are prone to sun burning then give this a try, or perhaps you want to get slippy for a particular sexual act!!
