Advantages: Many uses, cheap as chips, small travel pots available

Disadvantages: None

Most people know what vaseline is it's the solid petroleum jelly pot in your mum's bathroom cupboard that has been there since 1963 and they still use it. Seriously though it's wonderful stuff.

I buy the biggest pot going because it's much cheaper and use it for looooads of things here are some listed examples to save a massive paragraph:
Sore dry lips
Small amount to tame stray eye brows
Small amount on lashes if no mascara to darken them and add a bit of shine (I have black eyelashes no idea if this is any good on lighter colours)
The old stop hair dye staining your skin
Put it on your knuckles when you go to bed for lovely soft skin in the morning
Soothe a red nose when you have a cold and in winter smear a bit on your cheeks to stop that horrid sore skin that always develops
If you've no WD40 try vaseline my hubby went spare when I tried it on a door hinge, did work, not very well and a bit messy, but less squeaky
Create your own treatments with homeopathic ingredients
It can remove stray eyeliner if you use a cotton wool bud and a steady hand
It also did alright at protecting the delicate skin joints on my newborn son although I later found out sudocrem is even better.

For the money it's wonderful. It lasts literally years my son will be finding a bottle in my cabinet in 2063. You can get it with aloe vera in now that has a nicer smell and I think works even better than the original vaseline. If you have a TJ Hughes near you they often have the massive tubs on offer for a couple of quid cheaper than the chemists.

You can also get pocket sized tins for £1 in chemists that are great for sticking in your pocket or handbag for those emergencies when you're out.

If you have a job and don't know what to use maybe vaseline is worth a shot lol?

Summary: Wonderful stuff every house should have some.
