It's mad the amount of money I spend on lipbalms and moisturisers when Vaseline is the best by far and is madly cheap!

Vaseline is pure petroleum jelly and is a colourless jelly that is like a grease when you apply it. It moisturises and works as a barrier cream if you've got chapped skin anywhere, my mum used it on all of us when we were babies instead of nappy cream and none of us have ever had mega bad nappy rash and my sister who's 10 never had even one sore bum when she was little!!!

Now I'm all grown up I use it mainly as a lipbalm but I still buy these big plastic tubs because I get excema on the back of my knees sometimes and this takes the dryness away better than anything the doc has ever given me.

As a lip balm you have to use it a bit carefully because if you use too much it can make your lips look a bit caked in the stuff, I smear a bit on my finger but make sure there aren't any clumps and then rub it on my lips. I always smack my lips together and then I sometimes use a tissue to blot like lipstick just in case I've missed a clump.

If you put it on over lipstick it make it look lovely and shimmery but again you have to be a bit careful because you can easily smudge your lipstick with it.

There's loads of other uses. It's a bit greasy so I wouldn't want to use it on a big area of skin because it would make me feel too sticky, I know someone who uses it as an all over body moisturiser though because she gets mega dry skin. She always uses it after she's had a bath and puts her dressing gown on after but I wouldn't fancy putting my clothes back on after using this!
