Advantages: Cheap, versatile, no-nonsense skincare

Disadvantages: Won't make you smell beautiful, greasy if you apply too much

Vaseline has got to be one of the oldest products around and it's STILL going strong. Why is this you ask? Well, it's dirt cheap for one. But vaseline doesn't need to scream out scientific terms or miracle cures like many modern skincare products. I'm tired of seeing complicated lists of ingredients and scientific claims that I don't understand let alone, which doesn't give me much confidence with what I'm putting on my skin.

Here comes Vaseline, the reliable cheap pot of petroleum jelly, perfect for my dry and sensitive skin. So it can be used as a moisturiser? Ah-ha! Not only that but it can be mixed with foundation for a glowing complexion, mix with lipstick for glossy lips, use as a lip-balm, turn powder eyeshadow sheer, apply to eyelashes for a hint of gloss or eyebrows to shape them!

Phew! So vaseline is actually a make-up genius too, and has been highly rated by many beauty magazines. It's so cheap and also comes in a neat tin for 99p now, so there's no excuses for not giving it a go!

P.S. I haven't mentioned the usefulness of Vaseline as a lubricant, as I would like to stay a member of Dooyoo :o)
