Advantages: protects skin, inexpensive, cleans skin

Disadvantages: a bit greasy

I’ve been using Vaseline since I was a little kid and I’m now 61. But it wasn’t until around ten years ago that I discovered that Vaseline is vastly superior to the katrillions of skin products on the market (including some of the Vaseline brand’s own products, like Intensive Care, which gives me the itch). It’s cheap, and it works better than anything.

Why does it work? Because, unlike all the expensive moisturizers, Vaseline doesn’t soak into your skin. Instead, it stays on the surface and protects your skin from wind, weather, dirt, and so on. Don’t believe all the hype about your “thirsty skin” soaking up the healthy benefits of Blah-Blah brand moisturizer. If you use Vaseline, your skin will never be thirsty. And it doesn’t matter if it’s dry, oily, or combination, you can use Vaseline with the same good results.

A tiny bit of Vaseline rubbed over the face in the morning is a perfect base for your makeup, ladies. And there’s more...it’s really the only thing that’ll get all that yucky stuff off before you go to bed at night. Believe me, I’ve tried all those facial cleansers, and after I’ve used them I put some Vaseline on and rub it off with a tissue, and there’s always some residue...usually a lot of residue.

It’s excellent for softening leather, protecting the hands when using paint, paint remover, or other strong chemicals (if you don’t like using rubber gloves, which I don’t). Here in Brazil where I live, they use Vaseline to lubricate the inside parts of your toilet and a bunch of other mechanical things. When I used to live in New York, during the harsh winters there, the only thing that would prevent dry patches on my face was...you guessed it....Vaseline. I haven’t tried eating it yet (as the inventor of Vaseline did every day), but who knows, maybe I’ll even

A fine start. Welcome to dooyoo. Read and rate plenty of ops, make plenty of comments and you'll get lots of reads.

I always thought vaseline was a bit greasy to use as moisturiser. I dont like it for some reason anyway. maybe the greasiness.
