Advantages: versatility, inexpensive
Disadvantages: none
Im suprised there arent 100's of reviews of vaseline! It rocks my world! Its really cheap - about 99p for a standard sized tub and the tubs come in an array of sized, so suit all your vaseline needs, you can even get it in a wee tiny tin to carry round in your handbag in case of vaseline emergencies Everyone knows what vaseline is and what it looks like, its that lovely white creamy jelly type stuff in the yellowy jars. I believe petroleum jelly comes from oil. Its got about a hundred uses so im going to list all the ones i can think of Lipbalm - im an obsessive Carmex user but when im running low i substitute with vaseline and it does the trick, you can also mix it with abit of lipstick to make yourself a shiny shiny lipgloss Brow groomer - eyebrows got a life of their own? grab your brow brush and tidy em up with some vaseline and theyll stay put for longer Lash conditioner/replacement mascara - so maybe tonights the night youll get lucky and not be sleeping in your own bed *wink wink* stick a mini pot of vasline in your handbag and in the morning you can use it to tame your eyebrows, gloss your lips and if you rub it into your eyelashes itll define them and make them look like theyre wearing a fresh coat of mascara! leaves more room in your teeny tiny handbag for your spare knickers and youll look at least a little bit groomed the next morning when you take the walk of shame home. Shiny shiny shoes! - youre late and when you slip on your shoes you realise theyre a mess - no time to polish them, so rub in a bit of vaseline with a cloth and theyll be all shiny and nice! Lubricant! - Enough said! (not with latex condoms because vaseline is oil based and will gobble up your jonnies!) Ive just been informed that camera users can rub a little vaseline of their lenses to create a softer effect (must be a bugger to clean off though) You can stick vaseline on irritated skin to protect it fro
m the elements. Mummies slap in on baby's bum to ward off nappy rash Some people swear by coating their hands in vaseline and then wearing cotton gloves to bed to smooth and soften them I use vaseline to stop my skin getting dyed when i dye my hair, i apply it thickly to my forehead and all around my hairline and on my ears to stop them turning purple/black/brown - it works My favourite use for vaseline is as an eye makeup remover, even the most stubborn waterproof mascara cant defeat it. Rub it on your lids and lashes for a minute and then wipe off with tissue. Got a cold? rub some vaseline on your top lip and around your nose to protect them from getting dry and chapped, my mum used to do this to me when i was a kid and i hated her for it because it ended up all over my face. You can use vaseline to tame your hair if its frizzy or flyaway, but be sooo careful and use a teeny tiny amount - remember you can always add more on but you cant take it off if you put too much on, and you dont really want to go around looking like an actualy pot of vaseline do you? Rub vaseline on those trasured leather handbags to protect them, ditto things like football boots and shoes. You can use vaseline to lubricate things like wheels and joints on kids toys, and other things with wheels and jointy bits too i suppose! Vaseline is definately an all purpose product and every house should have a bumper sized pot, and every handbag should carry a mini sized pot (which when empty can be re filled from the bumper pot!) Please read other members' reviews of vaseline for more ideas of how to use it! I hope this was useful to you and if you havent got any vaseline - go buy some - now! Nat :)
