      Waitrose baby bath bubbles

A few months ago now I had gone into Waitrose looking for a baby product called Baby Body Butter. It had just been the subject of a glowing article, giving yummy mummy's a nice soft face and not really being used for its intended recipients, babies. Anyway needless to say at that time it was sold out so I decided to buy these bath bubbles for my little girl from their baby range instead. I had been looking for some bath bubbles for her bath for a while as a way to jazz up her bath and hopefully make her enjoy it more.

Given that it was Waitrose, a posh shop, I was quite pleased with the price and found it cheaper than some other nicer bath ranges that are aimed specifically at babies. A 100ml bottle cost me £2.54 and I thought this was good. The packaging was quite simple, a plastic see through bottle with a picture of a baby on the front which is similar to all their other baby branded products.

On the back of the bottle the bubble bath is described as being, "made with only the purest, gentlest ingredients to help maintain the natural oil and water balance of your skin. The comforting aroma of vanilla and chamomile can help calm your baby at bath time while aloe and manuka essential oils are believed to moisturise and protect the skin.

Well, it sounded good but overall I was quite disappointed with this product. It almost seemed too pure and light for my liking and turned out to be a bit of a limp product in my opinion. I think the main thing for me was that as its called bath bubbles I was expecting bubbles when I poured it into my little girls bath, but no, pretty much no bubbles appeared at all and that was even with me pouring the liquid directly under a hot running tap so as to get the liquid all foamed up. Any sort of substance that did arise from this quickly settled and we were left with a very flat bath water and no fun bubbles in which to make beards or put on our heads etc and have fun with.

The smell wasn't really in existence for me either, I know it's quite good to have quite a light and not overpowering fragrance for babies but I really could detect no vanilla at all and this is usually quite a strong smell.

In the end it's a shame as I really wanted to like this product but I didn't and unfortunately I haven't bought any since.
