Advantages: Cheap, only 49p a pack in Wilkinson's, nice smell, great for adult uses

Disadvantages: Not great for use on children

When it comes to my hand bag it really is a bottomless pit! I cart so much about with me I'm surprised I'm not hunchbacked by my age lol! One of the things I do like in my bag is some baby wipes for on the go freshen ups and emergencies. As someone who likes to party you never know when I need to quickly remove make up or if I've stayed out all night (on the odd occasion lol) need to have a sort of wash and in the day times I like them for wiping my hands as I'm a smoker and don't like to think I'm smelly and/or grimy. Although they are theoretically baby wipes us gals find alot of ways to use these, I'm sure lol!

The Packaging....

Not the same as on the review photograph at all although called exactly the same thing and all I can think is maybe the packaging has recently changed. My packet is light blue, oblong and plastic. On the front there is a photograph on the left hand side of a baby boy, then in the centre on a light and dark blue background in dark blue and white writing I'm told they are Baby, Cotton Soft Wipes, Gently Fragranced 'Soft and gentle wipes with added baby lotion. Formulated to help prevent the causes of nappy rash'. Then on the right hand side of the packet I'm told they are dermatologically tested and contain 24 wipes and that they are lotion enriched cotton soft wipes. On the back of packet I'm again told what they are and who they are by, a bit about the product, directions for use, cautions, ingredients are listed, contact details for Wilko and a cash back promise if your not entirely satisfied with the product are given, I'm told to bin them after use and not to flush the and finally there is a bar-code on there. All in all it's a basic packet but at the same time doesn't scream it's economy or anything. I do like the plastic see-through seal on the front that you open to pull out a wipe and close when it's done as it's very sticky and although the hole gets damp from pulling wipes through it it always seals keeping my remaining wipes moist enough and fresh.

A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Packet....

Baby cotton soft wipes have been formulated with baby lotion to gently and effectively cleanse baby's skin. Each wipe is soft and strong, ideal for use at baby change and feed time. The wipes are easy to remove leaving your other hand free for baby. Ideal when travelling and for your change bag.

The Wipes Themselves....

Well first off let me tell you this! Not once have I managed to pull one wipe out of the packet one handed at any given time lol. Even with two hands I seem to get about six out and then I have to shove the one's I don't need back in the packet any way I can thus making it difficult to get one out next time! One hand left for a baby? I don't think so!

The wipe itself is white, oblong and made of cotton as promised though it really isn't massive and is slightly oblong in shape. Although strong you can see through sections of the material although pull it and stretch it, it doesn't tear at all so it really is a strong wipe.

It isn't all that moist and it is highly fragrant. Expecting somewhat of a baby sort of smell these surprised me alot. To me they smell rather grown up and floral although sweet enough with a creamy smell. The smell is one I love but as I say to me is a rather grown up smell.

I use them to remove make up in a hurry, wipe over my body for a freshen up or as I said earlier...wipe my hands etc and they are really great. They are none sticky and leave the skin feeling softer slightly and highly fragranced and that smell stays apparent for a couple of hours after using them. I really value them as something that works in my bag and one day I was round at a friends house and her coffee table for dirty and it bothered me so I used one of my wipes to clean that and again it worked really well lol.

However....

I have no children and these are baby wipes after-all. Well the other day I had to (in an emergency) look after my neighbours 2 year old little boy. She threw him at me with a changing bag and I was literally left holding a baby. Not exactly well practised with kids I had no real clue what I was doing till I smelt a rancid nappy smell and yep you guessed it the toddler was caked in stuff! Grossed me out I can tell you that much! Well to cut a long, horrific story short I had everything I needed in the bag BUT wipes so I grabbed mine. Well what a mess I got into lol. I wiped away the debris first with some loo roll and then wiped his bum with these and I got in a right royal mess. First I couldn't get one or two wipes out, I got poo on my hands and then all over the clean wipes I didn't want to use that I was trying to put back in the packet. Then the wipe wasn't moist enough to wipe off the now dried on poo! I did get the poor little blighter clean with them but it took a wee bit of rough wiping and several wipes though I was pleased he was clean after and did smell great!

So on the baby changing front... nope I wouldn't bother it makes a meal of the task! They were ok when I gave him crisps and got him to wipe his hands afterwards by me jumping up and down with a wipe doing the same thing, just remind me to not give a two year old nik naks again lol. For me though for dirty tasks they just seem a bit too dry and I'm not just saying that about when you've had them a while either as the packet I'm referring to was a new pack!

Overall....

Great for personal use, though they don't work out all that economical in the long run as you have to use a few at a time. They do work though and do leave where you've wiped feeling slightly moisturised in a none greasy way and do leave behind a very pleasant fragrance indeed. Me... I'd buy them again for me but not to use on children as I felt traumatised using them and I'm sure changing a nappy shouldn't be that challenging! lol.

Summary: I will buy them for me!
