Advantages: Lasts a lifetime from what I can see

Disadvantages: None, unless you arent a Winnie fan

I have a little nursery set up for my baby girl in the Mamas and Papas Meadow Interiors but I felt it was a bit of a waste to buy a new changing mat when I still had one left from my toddler's baby days. It is the Honey Tree Pooh mat and it actually matches my Meadow nursery quite well as it is also lemons and yellows.

I use a changing mat quite a bit, I take it into the bathroom when baby is getting ready and getting dried, I take it to whatever room I'm spending most of the day in, so that I always have a clean convenient changing area and when its nor in use it sits on top of the dresser/changer in her nursery where ir blends in really nicely. I think its quite god going to still be using the same mat after two children- it certainly shows that it is a very good standard. There are no rips, dents or anything that would suggest that the changing mat is not 'nearly new' I am definitely really happy with it.

I have never really been a fan of Winnie the Pooh, even though he seems to be on baby products everywhere and on everything from cots to clothes. The reason I picked this mat was because we had been given a voucher for a baby shop after my son arrived and I had not got a changing mat yet. There wasn't a huge selection, and I wasn't very fussy anyway so I picked the one that was most pleasing on the eye. That was the Honey Tree Pooh one. Oddly enough, despite not being a fan, I picked a Winnie the Pooh Duvet for him in the same 'Honey Tree' range a while later... it's a pretty range and very age-appropriate. Sometimes its nice to jeep baby items looking as childish as possible.

The padding is still ample, my daughter really likes to lie on it. She even seems to like it more than she enjoys her play mat so I gather its comfortable for her. You might suspect that so much use would have formed head dents in the foam under the wipe-down plastic, but no. The sides are raised about 1.5 centimetres from the centre of the mat which helps keep any runny mess contained. I always use an Anti-bacterial wipe after use a dash of dettol spray every week to keep it clean and germ free. It comes up as new every single clean.

I've never had another and this one is heading in to its third year. Who knows, if I ever have any more children it may still be around our house for years to come!
It cost us £8.99 which I am fairly sure is a middle-of-the-road price for a mat. The one that actually matched my nursery was £22 and I just could not face spending that much money on something to simply change a baby's nappy on

Summary: Plastic-backed changing mat
