“ Brand: Claire de Lune / Type: Baby Blanket „
This is a review of the Cotton Spot Pram & Travel Blanket from Clair de Lune's range of baby bedding. I love baby blankets and have got tons of them in different colours, sizes and materials. I really think they make a difference to babies when they are tiny and unable to tell you exactly how they feel. The comfort of nice, soft, clean smelling blankets can create a cosy and cute environment for the tiny one to luxuriate in and it's always handy to have a blanket to hand to wrap around your baby if the temperature drops of you just want a nice cuddle.
My blanket choice
I have this blanket in 'natural' which is a pinky peachy colour. It is also available in natural, pink, blue and mint. In the bottom corner there is a Clair de Lune label which is quite 'designer' looking. The edge of the blanket is finished in a blanket stitch.
I bought my blanket from Boots in the sales just before my baby was born. I can't actually remember what I paid but it was less than the Clair de Lune website price of £13.99. I loved the spotty print and felt that the colours went well with what we already had in the nursery. It hung over the edge of the cot whilst we waited for our daughter to arrive and I remember stroking it nervously in the weeks before hand, imagining her wrapped up in the blanket!
Size and care
The blanket is sized 75 x 100cm which is nice and big. I have washed the blanket over and over again and it consistently comes up in mint condition. I think this blanket could last a lifetime of wear and tear so that's good if your little one becomes particularly attached to it!
I use this blanket virtually on a daily basis, especially now it is winter as a pushchair extra. I hang it over the front bar for comfort and warmth and to protect the pram from sticky fingers as it's easier to wash a blanket than it is to wash the pram! This blanket has been dropped and chucked on the floor numerous times so it is often in the wash but it comes up lovely and clean.
There is no label on the blanket but it is described as Cotton on the website. It is soft and sturdy material which is definitely not rough but it has a texture to it. As I said above, it washes wonderfully well.
For me, the selling point of this blanket was the spotty pattern, but it has proven itself to be far better than I originally expected. The spots in the pattern add some detail to the blanket. After over a year of good use (almost daily) the blanket still looks absolutely brand new. I think this would make a perfect gift for a new born or expectant mother and the colour ways that are available make them suitable for boys or girls. I am so pleased with this blanket, it has fared much better than the other CDL blanket we bought which I am also going to review (the popcorn one). It is a great size for a cover and could be used in a variety of ways. Once it becomes free of its duty as a baby blanket I would probably keep this in the car for keeping warm and emergency moments.
Conclusion: A blanket that will last a lifetime.
