      CUTE CURTAINS FOR THE NURSERY.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I didn't know if I was going to have a boy or a girl. Therefore I wanted to decorate the nursery out in a decor that would neither be too girly or too boyish. I was so confused as to what I wanted. I was so preoccupied with the notion that it just had to be perfect. I love decorating, but I had never felt so much pressure, as I gave myself to get this room perfect.

I finally decided on Winnie the Pooh. Not because I particularly love this animated character. But because the wall paper and all the accessories were really beautiful in design.

I bought my Disney Winnie the Pooh curtains from Mothercare. There was a whole host of matching accessories to choose from. All sporting the same design. Winnie The Pooh eating a pot of honey with all little bees swarming around him. I loved this design as I thought that not only was it sweet and charming but also it was a perfectly unisex design.

The background colour to the curtains is a pale lemon. Although the colour is not bright or too much. Even though this pale lemon is subtle, it's still bold and vibrant enough to look good. The curtains are pleated which in turn makes them look more attractive when they hang. The winnie the Pooh character is printed onto the curtains which makes them look fun and pleasing to the eye. The tie backs are in the same pattern and material. However the edging of the tie backs is piped with a bold and striking yellow colour. I like this as it draws the eye to the curtains and gives the curtains a real intense flash of colour which helps brighten the room making it appear lighter and more fun.

I was slightly disappointed that these curtains were not lined. However, I didn't think this was going to pose a problem. Unfortunatley, I was wrong as in the summer months the curtains were too light and offered the room a chance to glow from the sun outside. This would always wake baby up and therefore I had to resort to using a black out blind.

I loved the quality of the curtains, they were certainly well made. The stitching was very neat and strong. The material of the curtains was very light and easy to maintain. They would go into the washing machine on the normal wash cycle and come out like new. They were always a pleasure to iron as they would take no less than a minute before they were totally crease free.

These curtains are kept in place by curtain rings which are attached to the pole. I found them very easy to put up as the areas for the curtain hooks on top of the curtains, were really well made. I am no draper, but these really were simple to put up.

What I loved about these curtains was the fact that the Winnie The Pooh design did not appear to babyish after the first year of baby's life. I found that this design suited both a baby and a toddlers needs and taste. Many nursery designs are all fluffy bunnies and cotton candy clouds, which is beautiful, but once the baby gets to a year old they need something more bright and stimulating.

In all the time I used these curtains, I never had a problem. They always looked smart and maintained a fantastic condition despite being washed a few times. The loops at the top of the curtains which held the curtain hooks, remained strong and held up the curtains in order for them to hang correctly without any unsightly gaps.

I certainly would recommend these curtains. Especially when decorating the whole room out in the same design. It does look so very perfect for a nursery environment. I found that the pale lemon colour gave me a some what soothing and calming effect. With the bright yellow piping on the tab tops adding that little bit of warmth and charm.
