Advantages: Keeps your baby warm safely.

Disadvantages: Absolutely none

Grobags, or baby sleeping bags have got to be the most brilliant, yet simple, idea. They are little sleeping bags which fit over the shoulders with poppers and have a zip from the bottom left hand side round to under the right arm to make them easy to get on and off and also so you can do quick nappy changes without having to get the baby out.

They come in different tog ratings so you can use them in the warm summer as well as the freezing winter.

They have a variety of different colours and patterns and have an organic cotton variety should you be that way inclined.

They are safer than using sheets and blankets because the baby cannot wriggle down and get his or her head covered by their grobag.

But the best thing about them is the fact that your baby will stay warm and warm babies sleep for longer!! They make great presents and I would heartily recommend them to anyone with a small person in their house. Absolute genius!!

Summary: A brilliant idea: wish I'd thought of it!

Luckily my baby doesn't wrigle from under covers (at three months he's still sleeping in a carrycot so it's easy to tuck him in really well), and as far as safety goes I think the whole danger of suffocation is massively overplayed. But I might consider getting one for Scottish winter months, ideally with arms too, I have seen them.

How much are they? Are you reviewing the specific Grobag brand or generally baby sleeping bags?
