Not long after my sons second birthday-he was ousted out of his cot into a toddler bed. The cot became the new home of his baby sister. Rather than buying loads of new bedding for his new bed, I simply transferred his old sheets, duvets etc over to the toddler bed. Simply because when I bought them for his cot, its similar dimensions to his toddler bed ( the cot converted into a toddle bed also ) so I knew it would fit and also they were still in good condition. With a new baby, and having to fork out for new stuff for her plus having to buy a new bed for my son I simply couldnt stretch moneywise anyway. Last year my son turned two and the moment came when we decided he was going to have to make the next step up to a bed. As we only live in a small two bedroom cottage my clever fiancé decided to make some bunk beds that would fit in the smallish back bedroom and so there was room for a cotbed for my youngest son as he was only six months at the time and a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. He made the bunk beds the same size as the cotbed so we could get the cot bed mattresses to fit it. So all I had to find was some big boy bedding to go with it. This cotbed size toddler bedset consists of a pillow, pillowcase, duvet and duvet cover. Once my toddler was ready to move from a Grobag to a proper duvet, I started looking at duvets, pillows and bedsets separately, but it quickly became clear that it was going to be fairly expensive. The duvet would be around £15, the pillow £5, and the covers around £15 for a character set (you can get plain bedding cheaper - but really, where's the fun in that?).
