Mothercare have a good variety of products to suit many of your babys bedding needs. There range of Flannelette Cotbed Sheets is very nice and offers a good variety of pastel shades to suit boys and girls. The sheets are nice and soft to the touch, which means they are snuggly enough for even a very young baby.

If I compare them to the Mothercare Terry Sheets we have also bought before, these Mothercare Flannelette Cotbed Sheets are a much better buy. Of course being a flat as opposed to a fitted sheet they will need to be tucked in, but I think this is a a good option for a set of cot sheets, although fitted bottom sheets are also nice.

Price wise Mothercare Flannelette Cotbed Sheets are £11.99 in the larger cot bed size. The dimensions for this size are 120cmx wide x 155cms long, which should give just enough material to tuck the sheets in nicely over your cot mattress. Although these are also recommended for the small cot beds you can buy, they don't fit every cot bed and we found them a little bit of a tight fit towards the top and bottom of the bed and so they could have been just a little longer perhaps.

The smaller sized sheets fit small moses baskets and cribs and can even be used to line a pram. They cost £6.99 for a pack of 2 and are 70cms wide x 90cms long. We used these over a small slim crib mattress which we bought to use in the pram, as we felt it gave a nice soft and even surface for a new born baby. Obviously an older child will be sitting up more and will not need a similar surface, so the sheets won't be needed for this type of use.

You can buy your Mothercare Flannelette Cotbed Sheets in the following colours, a nice crisp white - that washes well and cane be kept fairly bright and white if washed correctly. A pale delicate lemon - that is lovely and fresh looking and will suit a variety of nursery themes. There are 2 options for the pink tones and you get one of each - a sweet little pale pink colour, plus a slightly deeper pink, great for little girls.

There is also a soft cream shade and a slightly darker cream - which sometimes is very hard to find in baby bedding, these both match well if you are having a teddy bear or similar theme to your nursery and tie in nicely with the light beige and soft browns to make a very relaxing babys first bedroom.

Finally there is also a pale blue and a slightly deeper but still soft blue - for little boys and a soft pale Aqua shade which is complimented by a slightly deeper Aqua, both of which are suitable for boys or girls and are perfect for under the sea type nursey themes, with all the little sea creatures and soft toy accessories to set it off a treat.

Mothercare Flannelette Cotbed Sheets are nice and soft as they are made out of a soft brushed fabric. This is really good for taking the chill off of bedding during cold snaps and a means you aren't placing your baby or toddler on to a chilly feeling surface. I wouldn't want to use the sheets in summer as you want the opposite effect then and need to aim for sheets with a cool crisp effect.

Whilst the sheets are nice and soft and also wash well, they are a little short in length for some beds and mattresses, so you will need to have a quick measure up before purchasing. These sheets are perfect as a top sheet and can be used as a bottom sheet tucked under the mattress of some cots and cribs etc.

Rating wise I fell these deserve 4 stars, as they remain soft and fluffy when washed and do fit most cot sizes. They won't fit larger cot beds, as bottom sheets, so I feel the labels are a bit mis -leading when they are marked up as a product that will do that job. Other than that they are a nice little product that come in some very pretty colours.
