“ Brand: Mothercare „
At night we have always put Jayden in a sleeping bag at night, for winter we bought him a thicker sleeping bag with sleeves, however now the weather is getting warmer he is getting a too hot in this one so we decided to buy him a thinner sleeping bag but without arms in it, all of the summer sleeping bags we had are now too small for him so we decided to go to Mothercare and purchase him a new one. Most of their sleeping bags were on offer at the time and we decided on the Mothercare Happy Town Sleeping Bag, it has a cute design and is also ideal for the warmer weather.
The Mothercare Happy Town Sleeping Bag didn't actually come in any packaging, it was folded up with a card wrapped around it, this had the name of the product on the front and a very small amount of product information on the back. The whole thing is then hung on a small white plastic coat hanger. There really wasn't anything overly fancy about the packaging, however it told you what you needed to know about the product.
The Sleeping Bag
The Mothercare Happy Town Sleeping Bag is described as a dungaree style sleeping bag, it comfortably fastens over your baby's shoulders and gives them plenty of room to move their arms and legs giving them freedom to move around in their sleep.
The sleeping bag fastens over the shoulders using poppers, there are also a couple of poppers down each side of the bag at the top giving your a wider opening for putting your baby in the bag and removing them from it, the poppers are positioned in a way so that they do no dig into your baby's skin and cause discomfort.
The whole thing then fastens up using a zip which goes down the whole of one side of the sleeping bag and partially up the other, again allowing you to open the sleeping bag out flat making it easy to put your baby in and out of it.
I particularly liked the design of the sleeping bag, the background colour is pale blue, it has a tree stitched on it with two car motifs and the words beep beep stitched above. The stitching and the motifs are in bright colours which stand out nicely against the lighter background, the design also matches the other items in the Happy Town range.
The Sleeping Bag is made from 100% cotton with 100% polyester filling, the inside of the bag is 100% jersey cotton, this make sit extremely soft against your baby's skin keeping them comfortable as they move around.
The sleeping bag is 2.5 tog weight, it does feel quite padded but the thinner cotton material and the fact that it is sleeveless makes it more suited now that the weather is starting to get a bit warmer compared to his thicker fleecy sleeping bag we have.
This particular sleeping bag from what I could see only comes in one colour (the blue) and personally I would say that the colour and the design is more suited to little boys.
When it comes to buying sleeping bags for Jayden I like something that is simple to wash without any complicated instructions that are going to be time consuming. When we were looking for a new sleeping bag we wanted something that we could wash and dry quickly as and when needed. The Mothercare Happy Town Sleeping Bag can be washed in a regular 40 degree was with other items of similar colours and another benefit is that it can be tumble dried which is ideal as you can get the sleeping bag dried quickly if needed.
The Mothercare Happy Town Sleeping Bag comes in 2 sizes
* 6 to 18 Months
* 18 to 36 Months
We went for the larger size as this would last Jayden longer, we thought the smaller size would not last him that long. The sizing is very generous especially in length, is quite long for Jayden but it does give him plenty of room to move around and it means he has plenty of room to grow.
Price and Availability
Obviously this item is only available from Mothercare as it is one of their own brand products, the sleeping bag is sold for £26.99 to £29.99 (depending on the size) however when purchased the sleeping bag for Jayden it had money off. Personally at full price I think this item is worth the money, it is of an excellent quality and very well made, the sleeping bag is hardwearing and will last a long while.
We have been extremely pleased with the Mothercare Happy Town Sleeping Bag it keeps Jayden lovely and warm and also gives him the freedom to move around in his sleep without feeling restricted and without the worry of him getting tangled up in blankets.
The sleeping bag is very well made and is finished to a high standard and is definitely worth the money it is sold for. It is thick enough to keep your baby warm but not so thick that they will get too hot and uncomfortable, the design of the bag also makes it easy to put your baby into the sleeping and remove them from it.
The sleeping bag is aimed more at boys rather than girls but it has a lovely design which is part of the Happy Town range. Jayden also seems pleased with his new sleeping bag and seems extremely comfortable in it. I would definitely recommend this item and would purchase another sleeping bag from this range in the future.
