Don't buy it for a cotbed

My eldest daughter is nearly 5 now but when I was pregnant with her we bought a bedding set from Mothercare and in the bedding set there were 2 flat sheets along with a blanket and a fleece.

The flat sheets are only available in 2 colours which are white and lemon unlike a lot of their bedding which is available in cream, blue and pink, this didn't matter to us as we went for the neutral bedding bale anyway as even though we had been told we were having a girl I didn't dare believe them and buy pink.

The sheets are available in 2 sizes, one will fit cribs and moses baskets whereas the other is bigger and will fit cots and cotbeds, I didn't see the point of buying special bedding for the moses basket and i'm glad I didn't since my daughter went into her cot by 8 weeks old. The sheets come in packs of 2 which is ideal one to use and one to wash and the prices range from £6.99 to £16.99, I think £16.99 for 2 sheets would be a little expensive but when you look at other ranges of bedding this is about the normal pricing.

I washed all the bedding before using it with my daughter and once washed it was lovely and soft, the sheets washed really well and came out pretty uncreased I had expected to iron them but they didn't need it. When we bought our bedding I also bought some fitted sheets and I am glad I did because for all these sheets are great as top sheets which is what I wanted them for they wouldn't fit the mattress as a bottom sheet anyway as they are not quite long enough for a cot bed even though they state they will fit a cotbed.

The sheets are still in use now 5 years later for my younger daughter and they are not as good as the rest of the bedding from Mothercare, you can see quite a bit of wear in the sheets which is totally acceptable after the length of time they have been in use but when you compare to the rest of the bedding which has been in use for just as long they are not as durable. I would say there is better bedding in the Mothercare range and these sheets only score a 3 with me.
