Advantages: Soothes and comforts - really works

Disadvantages: Pricey and don't stay as soft after washing

When I had my first baby I had spotted these interesting looking comfort blankets, from what I could see there were a square of soft fleecy material which had colourful label tags sewn along each side. They did seem quite interesting as I had heard from friends that most babies seem to love label tag but the price really put me off.

They seemed to me to be incredibly expensive, this large size costing about £17 and the smaller about £12. I simply wasn't going to pay that much much for one so instead I purchased a much cheaper comfort blanket without the tags. She became attached to this and seemed more than happy with the choice I had made, so I took the viewpoint that the taggie blankets were vastly overpriced and just targeting first time mums who want to buy the best option for their babies.

When my second daughter was born, I did actually receive a taggie blanket as a present and I was quite curious about whether my little bundle would take to it....... she did! After only a few weeks she seemed to become really soothed by the taggie blanket, she little fingers curled around the tags and stroked the soft fleecy material. As the weeks passed, she bacam more and more attached to it, and most of the time just passing it to her in her cot would soothe her cries and send her off to sleep.

I really can't praise these blankets highly enough, they have become completely indispensible and 18 months down the line, it is still her favourite thing and is cuddled every night as she goes to sleep.

The only downside for me, is the price. With my other daughter I had unfortunately fallen into the tricky postion of only having one of her type of blanket, it has been cuddled and loved so much that it now resembles a rag and is completely irresplaceable. I was trying to avoid this with my second daughter and therefore when I realised she was becoming attached to her taggie I quickly went and bought another one, so I could rotate them in the wash and avoid the nightmare of losing one. She has lost one however and therefore I have spend quite a considerable amount of money on what is quite a simple product.

They also don't stay quite as soft and fluffy as you would like for all that long. After a few washes they do start to bobble and can began to feel a little rough. You can know buy a super soft version however I believe that these are even more pricey.

So all in all, I truly believe that the taggie blanket has been hugely instrumental in soothing my gorgeous little bubba and although they do cost a lot of pennies, I think that they are worth it!

Summary: Fantastic design
