Close Baby Carrier Natural
by freddiesmam I remember the first time I ever saw one of these, I was in a Cafe and a mum walked past with a tiny infant in one, it looked stunning. I knew I had to have one and promptly added one to my growing selecting of carriers and wraps! What I love: The quality of the cotton is lovely, the wraps are beautifully ... soft. The design is pretty good in that its like a mixture of a structured carrier and a traditional wrap, so its a bit easier for parents to get their heads around than the classic wrap. It goes on easily and I like the wrap around part as you can tie that nice and tight for a snug and secure fit. The appearance is just stunning, I love the long straps that hang down the back. It just makes the carrier look both stylish and 'earthy' in one somehow! What I dont love: As my child got older and heavier, I did find the limition of the Close carrier. Because of the ring design, when a child is heavier it does pull down on these a bit and makes the fit looser so I found I had to keep repeatedly tugging on them to tighten them which was annoying. With a traditional wrap I could actually tie the straps in a knot so they weren't shifting at all, but this design does not allow you to do that. Overall: A great carrier for smaller infants. Organic cotton for the really natural feel next to you and your babies skin. Not so great for heavier/older infants. Read the complete review |

Close Baby Carrier Natural
by sttb1997 I bought the Close Baby Carrier in pistachio when I was pregnant with my second son and found it amazing....to begin with. The carrier consists of 2 separate pieces. One is shaped and sewn together so that it goes over your body and this is the bit that holds the baby. There are metal rings at your hips which you use to ... adjust the carrier. There is a second piece of material that then wraps around yourself and the baby, to make you feel even more secure. It was very easy to understand how to put it on and take it off, it felt secure and safe around my baby. The colour was lovely and the material was so soft that I didn't worry about it coming into contact with my baby's skin. When he was asleep I could just cocoon his head inside the material and he was close to me but still able to breath and didn't get too hot. The downsides of this carrier are that the rings began to dig into my hips after a while of using is, and as my son got older I found that I had to keep pulling the rings back into their right position to ensure the weight was distributed over my back properly. It began to get very uncomfortable using it so by the time my son was around 4 months old I had to give up carrying him until I found a sling which better suited our needs. The instructions say you can use this until the toddler years but I would have to disagree with that from my own personal experience. Possibly I'm just the wrong shape for the carrier and the rings wouldn't dig into somebody else like they do me - who knows. I would definitely say this is ideal for a newborn but that's about it. For this reason I don't think it's worth the money. Read the complete review |

by clarahj I was really excited when i bought this sling in the red colour. It came with excellent instructions on DVD, so it was really clear to follow the different ways of wearing baby with this sling, and be confident that it was being done correctly! The material was lovely and soft, washes well and fits comfortably. I loved to wear my newborn ... in this sling as he could lay in it in a hammock like position, which felt very natural and supportive for him, and i felt really helped him to go to sleep as he was close to my heartbeat. However, after about 12 weeks he did not feel well supported in the sling, the stretchiness of the fabric meant that it always felt as thouggh he were slipping down, and the sling would need tightening every 15 minutes or so or the fabric would stretch out, with baby getting lowere and lower down my body. At this point we had to move on to a different type oof sling as it just did not support him in the front facing position. My husband also felt it was too feminine for him to wear, as it has a lot of fabric and lengths hanging down form the waste. It had such great potential, and was really good for the newborn stage, i was just dissapointed that it didn't live up to my expectations Read the complete review |
