Advantages: safe and comfatable, looks good, gives you the use of your hands back
This is the best way to carry your baby if you need to do things which involve using both your hands.
My mum got me the Baby Bjorn baby carrier before my son was born and I thought another thing to be slung in the cupboard and never to be seen again. How wrong could someone be!!!!
My son is 4 months old and from his 2nd week in the big wide world I have used my carrier. (thanks mum!)
I don't hold a driving licence and so therefore I have to rely on public transport. I find it impoosible to take my pram on the bus as I can't collapse it and hold my baby. If anyone out there can do this I hold my hands up to you!
However I can use public transport without any problems if I wear my baby carrier.
It is so comfatable to wear with wide padded adjustable straps which distribute your baby's weight evenly over your back so that you don't get unneccesary back or shoulder aches.
It is very easy to put on and off by yourself and just as easy to get your baby in and out without disturbing him whilst sleeping, as all the adjustments are done at the front of the carrier.
Your baby can face towrds you and snuggle in or face forwards and watch the world go by.
It is suitable for babies from the age of 1-2 weeks old up to the age of 10 months or until they get to heavy for you to carry around.
It comes in a variety of colours including: denim , navy , navy and tartan and bold bright colours.
My son loves it and it is a sure way to send him to sleep. He feels safe and secure snuggled up close to me. He likes the warmth from my body and the sound of my heart beating, he finds very soothing. It obviously reminds him of when he was in the womb for 9 months.
I love it just as much as he does. It feels so nice to be able to do things which involve using 2 hands but also keep your baby close to you at the same time. If I don't need to use my hands then I put them round my baby and give him a co
nstant cuddle which is a lovely feeling for us both.
Since I fell in love with my carrier my pram has become a bit redundant as I tend to choose my carrier over my pram when ever I go out, especially if I am going shopping on my own . I don't have to worry about trying to squeeze through silly sized doorways with a pram or running over peoples toes in small shops and all the other joys you experience with a pram!!!!!
The baby carrier doesn't cause me any restrictions at all and it is definately the best baby item I have got.
Compared to other baby carriers I have seen in shops and ones that my friends have got, this one definately comes up trumps. It has been designed for the safety and comfort of you and your baby and also looks good which is an added bonus. I have found that the structure of this one is much sturdier and overall just feels safe to wear without panicking every time you take your hands away. Your baby is very securely attached to you and there is no way he can fall out whereas with some of the others I would be afraid to let go and therefore it defeats the object of having one.
I must admit this is one of the most expensive carriers on todays market but like they say " you get what you pay for" and this is definately worth every penny.
It is available in most large baby retailers so you won't have any trouble trying to find one.
I would highly recommend the Baby Bjorn baby carrier over all others and if you decide to buy one I wish you all the success I have had with mine.
