Well what can I say about this sling?
I have this sling in the sling library I run in the la rae colourway with a fringe, it's a one shouldered sling, with very light padding and completely adjustable due to the rings that loosen or tighten up as required.
I have used this sling with my 28lb toddler and found it comfortable for maybe half an hour, it is better suited to younger babies and I wouldn't recommend using it to the maximum weight of 35lbs, as it can dig into your shoulder abit, and comes up slightly too narrow to create a really supportive pouch for your toddler to sit in. If you want a one shouldered ringsling for your toddler there are better brands out there.
Right let's get down to the nitty gritty shall we?
Comfort - It's pretty comfy, I haven't had the opportunity to try it with a little baby, although a friend tried it and was instantly converted to ringslings so it must be comfy for really little ones! I must admit I'm not very good with ringslings, once you get it right it is comfy but I find it hard to get right, and the padding makes it more difficult for me as you have to make sure the padding is released enough and is on your shoulder, otherwise it can go astray and pull alot making it uncomfortable. I prefer my ringslings without the padding if I'm honest.
Safety - it keeps baby snug and secure, baby is kept in the optimal position, so it is knee to knee and keeps the spine nice and curved and it can be used in the cradled position as it keeps baby nice and high on your chest, just how you would if you were holding the baby in your arms, and you can see baby's face clearly. It is made from the same material as their woven wraps so is very sturdy. Remember to always check ther material for any snags/pulls/holes before each use and if it looks to be weakening - don't use it.
Cleaning - Stick it in the washing machine at 40 degrees and you're good to go. Don't use fabric softeners (reduces materials lifespan) and use a non-bio detergent (without added softeneers brighteners) or preferably eco-wash balls. You can tumble dry it on a low heat but preferably line dry or hang over an airer and let it dry naturally, as again tumble dryers can reduce the materials lifespan.
It's very good value for money and can be used upto 2 - 3 years old, depending on your child's weight, although I do find it slightly expensive.
Would I recommend it? Without hesitation, it is a very good brand, if a little expensive, for this reason I would probably recommend buying it preloved via paypal so you still have buyer protection in case anything goes wrong.
