I bought one of these when my son was about 14 months old, and he still fits in it at 20 months. I don't use it much for him now, as he prefers walking. I will be using this sling for my new baby as well as another upright sling. The huggababy is perfect for keeping newborns close to the body and in a lying down position. You can even breastfeed with it! If baby has a colic problem, it is the perfect way to comfort them without them being squashed in an upright sling. The wonderful thing about this sling is that you can carry baby upright, lying down, however you want. And it will last far longer than a normal sling - it is easy to carry a toddler ... We bought a Huggababy sling after a midwife recommended them. They are a broad band of cotton. Its soft to touch, but still strong. There are about half a dozen different positions that you can put your baby. For all of them, the baby is close to your body, which they like. My wife used to carry our first child around the house a lot whilst she was pottering about. With our second child, it has also been useful for carrying the baby whilst chasing a manic toddler around a playgroup.
