Shooshoos Soft Soles
by pootlegirl
If you've already gone through a variety of pram shoes for your baby and given up, either because they just take them off, they fall off or they struggle to walk in them, then you need to buy a pair of Shoo Shoos!
Although I am a firm believer of bare feet being the best option for babies learning to walk (and children ... generally!), there are times when that is just not practical, and for those times Shoo Shoos are the next best thing! The sole of the shoe is made of soft, flexible suede which means baby can still feel the floor, making it much easier for them to balance and develop the confidence to take those first few steps. The fact that it is suede also means that they are quite 'grippy' which is great for laminate/tiled floors. If you're baby's not at the walking stage yet, then Shoo Shoos are perfect for adding an extra layer for those cold winter months. The top of the shoe is made of soft leather and is nice and wide to allow growing feet to develop unrestriced. Then there is the elastic heel! This is what makes these shoes stay put like they are glued on! No matter how much kicking my little girl did as a baby, or how much pulling she did when she was older, she never managed to get these shoes off! Yet the elastic isn't so tight it's digging into baby's skin, it's just in exactly the right place! And because it's elastic, getting the shoes on and off is a two second job - for an adult!
Not only are these shoes a great design for developing feet, they also come in a fantastic range of designs, there really is something for everyone - and if, like me, you had a girl and very quickly got fed up of everything being baby pink, then you will be over the moon when you look at the Shoo Shoos range!! Admittedly there is still a lot of pink, but they have enough other great designs for girls to be forgiven for this!
My daughter had two pairs of these, 0 - 6 months and 6 - 12 months. She didn't have any other footwear so she was either in these or bare feet. They are exceptionally well made and both pairs were still in fantastic condition when she had finished with them. She started walking shortly after her first birthday and although these are suitable for light outdoor use, they are not waterproof so we decided to buy her some 'proper' shoes (which, incidently were from Clarks and fastened with Velcro - she would have them off in seconds!).
The RRP for Shoo Shoos is around £17, but you can often pick them up for as little as £10. However, considering your child should get at least 6 months wear out of these I don't think £17 is a bad price at all! Read the complete review |

Minnie Mouse Slipper Boots
by baby-cakes
I always like to buy my little girl slippers and pyjama's for Christmas, its like a ritual that they are just two things that I always received so it was natural to do the same for my daughter. My plan to buy them for Christmas was foiled when she suddenly had a growing spurt and grew out of her current slippers! I always wear slipper ... boots rather than slippers and my little girl is forever pinching them and wearing them herself so I decided to have a look for a nice pair of childrens slipper boots. Searching on the internet I was getting a bit despondent as I just couldn't find any, but Ebay being my last resort came up with the perfect pair!
The pair of slipper boots I chose was a Minnie Mouse pair which as I say were just perfect as my little girl just adores everything Minnie Mouse. Two days later they arrived and cue one very happy little girl looking very proud in her new slipper boots.
The Minnie Mouse slipper boots are just too cute! They are made out of velour and are a deep red in colour with pale pink hearts all over the boot. On the front of the boot is a large pvc picture of Minnie Mouse bursting out of a stripey heart, and on one side of each boot is a large red bow which indicates which foot the boot should be on if the child needs a little help. The inside of the slipper boots is fleecy which gives the ultimate comfort and warmth. The base of the slipper boots is a tough rubber and you will see the size of the boot in the centre of the sole. On the back of the slipper boot it says Minnie Mouse in black writing so it stands out well against the red.
Minnie Mouse slipper boots come in a good range of sizes, which starts at size 6 and goes all the way up to 12 so it covers a good age range. I bought a larger size than required for my daughter so that hopefully they will last longer than the last pair we had, though of course I had to be careful they weren't far too big to prevent risk of her tripping over.
The price of the Minnie Mouse slipper boots varies, I have only ever seen them on Ebay personally and it does seem to vary from seller to seller. I paid £7.99 for my daughters but others are priced up to £11.00. I would have paid the higher price for them as I think they are definately worth it.
Our opinion on these slipper boots? Well we both love them. I struggle to get my little girl to take them off as she even wants to wear them outside and to nursery! With the soles being rubber she can wear them outside and she will often keep them on to go to her grandma's which is just up the road and so far there has been no sign of wear at all. One thing with the slipper boots is that she really doesn't like wearing socks with them as she says it makes her feet too hot so it shows how warm they are with the fleecy inner. I think the slipper boots are so cute and look really good on my little girl and I would recommend them to any little Minnie Mouse fan! I also like how there is a bow on the outside of each boot as it is a real aid for a child who isn't quite sure which foot the boots should go on - my daughter does know but it is just extra confirmation for her. The only downside is that our mad cat tries to catch the bows and play with them!!
Can't recommend them enough! Thank you for reading my review. Read the complete review |

Boots Swim Pants
by Prokofiev
I take my little boy swimming every week, and have tried various swim nappies. I have found that the boots ones are the cheapest and easiest to use.
They have an attractive design, with little pictures of fish and other water related things. The elasticated waist also indicates which way round the nappy goes as it is printed ... with the word 'back' all the way across. This is very helpful, and more obvious than other swim nappy designs I have used.
The Boots swim nappy is also more elasticated than others, meaning that they fit a wider range of sizes and are more snug once they are on. They don't seem to stick out too far above or below my little boys trunks either.
They do not expand or absorb the pool water, and remain the same, slim size that they are when unused. Once you are out of the pool, they can be torn easily down the side to allow for quick and easy removal.
Having had no disasters in the swimming pool, I can't advise whether they retain solids, but as the leg holes and waist seem snug and secure, I imagine that they would do a good job. Read the complete review |
