~*~ The Company ~*~
Launched in 2003, the pioneers of this company, Nick and Jane Praver, are both seasoned professionals in the textile business. Jane has fourteen years of designing expertise in children's wear deployed for a diverse range of stores such as BHS, M&S, Disney Stores and Mothercare. Nick has eighteen years of experience, designing for countless world-wide brands.
~*~ Their Clothing ~*~
These two designers produce 0-24month baby-wear, focusing on chic and uniquely styled clothing. A lovely feature of their apparel is to partly line the garments to ensure added comfort. Then to complete the individuality of the clothes, they are hand-finished in places such as Istanbul by small family businesses. This co-incidentally brings me to the ethics of these two innovative designers.
~*~ Their Ethos ~*~
The Crib Company is involved with supporting the children's charity The Foresters' Fund for Children. The FFFC apportions funds to less known children's charities. Crib supports this charity financially, by use of its respected name & even by contacting an array of other smaller charitable institutions to alert them to the FFFC's donation program.
Additionally, as mentioned in my sub-title, 'their clothing', Crib employs the highly skilled craftsmanship of a traditional family business in Istanbul, Turkey; thereby, supporting the continuing culture that has been established in such beautiful hand finished designs. But their support of family businesses is not only overseas but in the UK too; individual talents ranging from beading, embroidery and crochet.

This gorgeous quality 100% cotton dusky pink patchwork top has short gathered sleeves finished off with tiny satin bows. This round neck top has a little flower button and loop back opening. I found this to be a perfect gift for my daughter, who especially wanted predominantly pink clothing for her new baby.
This hand-embroidered tee is partly lined to ensure the extra comfort factor and comes in sizes 0 to 24 months. Obtained to fit baby from three months, the sizing is very accurate.
The varying perfectly coordinating colours on this top make it a neat and practical item to match with plain colour clothing, picking out one of the subtle shades within the fabric.
Although these clothes are delicate they are made with practicality in mind. The Crib's easy instruction on fabric care advises turning the garments inside out on 40 degree washes. I only washed this garment on the delicate cycle and at 40 degrees with low spin speed. The garment retained its shape and colour vibrancy without bobbling. The guidelines also encourage ironing on the reverse side. These clothes are not suited for tumble drying, the use of bleaching agents and colour combination laundering. I never needed to iron the garment as I removed it each time from the machine as soon as the cycle had ended. Drying flat ensured little creasing.
I 'purchased' for FREE thanks to a friend with a tot out-growing clothes! But Crib on-line price is £14. I advise on-line searching as there are many other stores selling this beautiful product. Recommended for the quality, beauty and ethics!
