Advantages: Easy to get on and off
Disadvantages: None
I wanted to make sure that my baby would have a good reliable suit that would help keep her warm when she started going into a swimming pool, along with a secure nappy system, buoyancy and warmth were the other two priorities, JoJo Maman Bebe Baby Wetsuits had been recommended by a couple of friends who had used them, I bought mine direct from the website and paid £18 for it, there are three baby sizes going up in six month blocks and then there are child sizes as well.
The suit is made from 1.5mm thick neoprene and is a bright fuchsia colour with a whale on the front. The suit allows water into it just like a normal wetsuit and then the body can heat the water that gets trapped and thus it helps to keep your babies body temperature from falling too much while in the water.
What I have found so great about this wetsuit is how easy it is to get onto my baby, it has tthree velcro fastenings, one around the crotch area, one on the side and the other across the right shoulder, these also allow you to adjust the fit of the suit so that it is secure and it is also easy to get off quickly. To get it on you simply open the suit out and lay your baby in it, there is only one arm to thread through and then the suit fits together using the velcro fastenings. This ease of getting it on means it can be done in less than a minute which is great.
The suit does provide a little bit of bouancy but not much however it does help keep my daughters body warm, one thing you do need to be aware of is that it does not provide any UV protection if it is used outside unlike other suits.
It is easy to clean with soap and water and it is best to keep it stored on a hanger rather than folded. It is a robust strong design and so far it has held its shape really well and I do not see any problems over the next three months of use that it should give.
A great suit and highly recommended by me.
Summary: Very effective
