Advantages: Excellent quality, lovely design, pullstring toggle
Disadvantages: Nothing
Despite it being summer at the time and my daughter not really needing a pair of wellington boots I still couldn't resist the bargain of the Ladybird Christina wellington boots. I picked them up in the sale several months ago for £7.00 with the original price being £13.00.
Immediately, just from looking at the internet picture I thought that they looked like good quality wellington boots, plus they are absolutely gorgeous. The boots are a pale blue in colour with a combination of pink and brown flowers and patterns, as the photo shows it's not an overwhelming look, the combination of colours really complement each other and I really find the boots to have a very girly and pretty look.
The outer boot is made from a very durable and hardwearing rubber. I have found past wellington boots to have a flimsy feeling but these feel a lot sturdier and a lot better quality than most. The top of the boot and the inner boot is lined with a waterproof fabric this is secured with a little pull string toggle at the top of the boots to ensure that they are tight enough around the leg to prevent water from seeping through the top. I have found this to be one of the best parts of the boots as I tend to find that when my daughter jumps in puddles the water splashes all up her legs and into her wellies. These however prevent that from happening, keeping her feet dry and comfortable even if she manages to get the rest of her soaking wet!
I have really found these boots to be of excellent quality, I have never had any problems with her feet becoming wet despite her jumping in puddles that cover her entire feet. I have also noticed that the boots are higher up the leg than others that I have bought; again further protecting the feet and trousers from getting wet. My daughter has never complained about them being uncomfortable and I find that she enjoys wearing them and takes every opportunity to do so. Over the summer we have unfortunately had to wear them a lot and despite the fact that they have fitted her now for several months I think that the sizes are generous enough that they will last her into the winter as well.
I have also found that they are more than easy to clean, the larger part of the outer boot requires no more than I wipe down, the waterproof fabric at the top area is more difficult to clean but it doesn't take an awful lot of time and a wet cloth is enough to remove any mud or dirty water. I would highly recommend these wellington boots; I have found them to be excellent and by far the best boots we have bought for my daughter. They come in sizes 4 to 12 and they are currently available to buy for around £13.00.
Summary: The perfect wellington boots!
