LittleLife Toddler Ladybird DaySack
Advantages: Super safe, cute, hard wearing.
Disadvantages: Your child won't want to take it off!
I first discovered this product when I spotted a little boy wearing one in the supermarket and asked his Dad where he got it from. He quite usefully told me to look up 'Littlelife' online, which I did that evening. I found the best price at the time (about 6 months back) on Amazon, paying around £16.
**Safety and Fun!**
This is a fantastic little invention and one of my favourite toddler purchases! We have the turtle rucksack. It's a nice bright green colour, with the pattern of turtle ridges in a lighter green. It clips on in the same way as you would clip on a regular rucksack, by hooking the straps over each shoulder and fastening over the chest. The adjustable straps felt a little loose to tighten and untighten and I thought they might work themselves loose once I had tightened them accordingly- but they stay in place with no problem. At the top of the rucksack, there's a loop (should you wish to grip/carry/hang) and a loop for the rein which attatches with a detatchable clip (meaning your little one can use this without the rein as a bag if you wish). The rein is essentially what I would describe as like a dog lead-a long strap with a circlular soft handle. That's probably a terrible way to describe it but, essentially, there's no ideal 'look' for your child reins, and given that the super cute animal rucksack component detracts a little from the whole rein, this is in my opinion the best looking product on the market in its particular group!
My son attempts to run away from me on occassion and he ends up running on the spot like a comedy cartoon character- the rucksack is incredibly safe and totally fit for purpose! The fabric is hardwearing and easy to clean.
My little boy loves wearing his rucksack as it's a little bit of fun for him. It has two zips- the first opens the actual bag. Inside is a name label for you to write their details. It's a small bag- but then you wouldn't expect your toddler to carry much weight, so it's an ideal size. In ours, we pop some wipes (usually a half used pack to save on space/weight) and a nappy, a small snack and beaker, or a few toy cars. Today, we nipped just a few minutes walk away for milk- so he carried just my purse! The second zip is closer to the child's neck and contains an attached rain hood- and this is the really cute bit! It has little eyes on to make your child look like the turtle (kind of!). It actually looks a bit daft but in a lovely way that makes old ladies smile. The bonus being that you can take photos of them sporting this look to send to grandparents/show their first date when they're 16 and trying to be cool.
**Animal Farm and friends...**
The rucksacks are available in a range of cute creatures, including a bee, shark, ladybird and cow. There are also plain old rucksack rucksacks! They have a range of different colours and one that I've seen even has a transparent holding strap. I would consider any one of these for my son, as they're all lovely to look at and practical.
**How we roll...**
My son wears this rucksack on every single walking occasion. Personally, I rarely hold it by the 'lead'. I use the loop at the end of the 'lead' on my arm-pushed up to the top round the muscle and I hold his hand. This means that if he slips my hand (which he does), he can't run further than a foot or so! I sometimes will hold the strap by the loop in the shop to give him a bit more space.
**I love this because...**
It's safe, practical, comfortable, cute, bright and gives me peace of mind when we're out together. It's good value for money, and very popular as a second hand purchase if you wish to sell it on when you've finished using it.
Summary: One of my best 'gets used daily' buys!
