“ Brand: Marks and Spencer / multi coloured body suits „
As every parent knows having your baby warm and comfortable goes a long way to settling your little one especially in those early days. Baby body suits or as I always have referred to them vest are an everyday essential. With my son who is now over 2 years old I have tried several different makes and I have always ended up coming back to these Marks and Spencer's pure cotton body suits as they seemed to be the best quality and value I could find
What are they?
These bodysuits come in packs of five. We generally choose colored ones with various design on them such as blue with cars or animals on them. This due to the fact that I found the colored ones looked less grubby than whites that could get stained by my son and his various bodily functions. They have an envelope neck which means it is folded over at the top rather than being round neck. They come in both long and short sleeves. They have a popper fastening at the crotch of the body suit there are 3 poppers in total. The body suits are made form 100% cotton and are machine washable and can be tumble dried.
They come in various sizes ranging from newborn up to 2-3 years old.
I have to say that initially one of the things that attracted me to these body suits was the cute designs. This coupled with the fact that they were made from pure cotton meant I felt these would be good natural product that would allow my son's skin to breath and reduced the risk of anything irritating his baby soft skin.
I personally prefer an envelope design body suit or vest for my son compared to a round neck as I have found even when my son was little it was easier to put these over his head as there was more room. Also as he grew he had a bit of a big head compared to the rest of him and this allowed him to stay in these body suits longer. Though there can be a bit of gathering at times at the top of the arms by the envelope design I never find this a sufficiently large amount to be a problem for my sons movement or comfort.
On the occasions we bought long sleeved versions these did at the beginning of the age range seem a bit long in the arm but by the end of the time we got to when he was wearing them they came just above his wrist. The long arms seemed to definitely aid in keeping him warm on cold wintry days with the snow. They never seemed to be too tight around the width of the arms either
The three poppers under the crouch area are substantial and stay in place well even with a wriggling baby and later as a mobile toddler without coming lose or unpopped. There was no give in these over the course of the months that they were worn and they still fastened as well on the last day of use as they did on the first day. Equally the material around the poppers never became worn or torn as has had happen on cheaper supermarket versions of body suits that I have tried.
Most of the time when I washed these they would be washed in Fairy washing powder and line dried or tumbled dried depending on the weather. During this time they was no change to the structure or shape of these body suits. Unlike some supermarket versions of this product these stayed in the same shape without becoming stretched or worn. I would be confident in reusing these if we are lucky enough to have another baby. The colours of these also remained good and didn't seem to fade in any way and were still cute and bright several months later.
Size wise I always found these did corresponded well with my son's age if anything they were slightly longer and wider than other brands. This was good for those times there was a lot in his nappy but more importantly they lasted a long time due to this. I think the fact that they are slightly larger will be good for people who use real nappies as these are slightly larger so the extra room will come in handy.
These are a great buy that was well and is a quality product I would definitely recommend these to other parents. These are off such a good quality I think they would last for several babies if you are handing the products down. At £10 for a pack of 5 I think they are worth the price.
