“ Brand: Peacocks / Type: Tops „
My daughter has far too many clothes and I didn't intentionally set out to buy any more but like with most things when shopping for myself something caught my eye for my daughter. My latest purchase was this Hooded Fairisle Knit Cardigan from peacocks; costing only £15 I thought it a bargain.
The cardigan is part of the young girls collection at peacocks and is available in sizes 1 ½ to 5 years. I would have thought this cardigan to be wool but I was quite shocked to learn that it actually made of a collection of different materials, wool being one of the lesser ones, the cardigan is made from; 52% Acrylic, 42% Viscose, 4% Wool, and 2% Polyeste. To be honest the components of the cardigan mean nothing to me but I do know that it feels soft, thick and very comfortable.
The cardigan is mostly cream having sections of red and brown in a little pattern on the front. I do like the design but the main reason of buying this was because how warm and snuggly it looked. The cardigan also has a hood at the back; this is a relatively large hood and is ideal for covering little heads to keep them warm. It also has 5 buttons down the front and a little tie which if being honest I think is quite pointless and an addition that I don't think was really needed.
Despite picking up a cardigan the right size for my daughter I have noticed that it is oversized and rather baggy, the sleeves fit fine but the cardigan comes down to the knees almost. I would think this a bad thing most of the time but since I bought this cardigan to be used as a winter wrap I think it's actually a good thing that it's so baggy as it looks a lot more snug and comfy.
My daughter really likes this cardigan, she's always asking to wear it and she looks so cozy when she does. I also like it but I just think it looks a little bit like a dressing gown. We have worn it outside the house but only when nipping out in the car and things. It's ideal for at home and it's also great to take to nursery in case she gets cold throughout the day but it's a very casual cardigan and not one to be worn for all occasions.
I find this cardigan looks best with slim jeans or leggings as that way my daughter can wear her winter boots which goes really well as the cardigan is so long. However it does look nice either way and comfort is the main function of this jacket for me.
Quality wise I have no issues. The buttons are securely fastened and they are big and easy enough for my daughter to do up by herself. The cardigan itself is excellent quality; it so far has no pulls which I would have expected for this type of cardigan and material. It's easy to wash and dry and is ironable on a low heat, so all in all it's easy to maintain. I would definitely recommend this cardigan, its ideal for the cold winter days.
