Advantages: Certainly does the job and keeps the socks on!
Disadvantages: Extremely tight fit and look uncomfortable for anything but the smallest baby!
Sock on's should be an ingenious product. They are a pair of 'half socks' which fit over a babies normal socks in an attempt to keep them on. They are made of very thin nylon and should fit snuggly over a babies sock to solve the age old problem of missing socks. They come in all sorts of colours and can be used to coordinate with a babies outfit.
I was given a pair of sock ons as a Christmas present for my second son's first Christmas. Unlike my first child, who is a tin ribs, my youngest is destined to be a Rugby player! When I fitted a pair of sock ons on his feet they certainly did the job as the socks were definitely not falling off. Infact I am convinced that if I had left them on for too long it would have been his feet that fell off, not the socks!
The sock ons are exactly cheap either. Costing over £2.50 for a pair. Although they are a clever idea, its cheaper and less painful for the baby to just loose the odd sock here and there!
Summary: It's cheaper and less painful to loose the odd sock!
