I love the cow and gate baby balance range for many reasons. The main reason is that I find their range of food the best for my child health wise. When my children have been being weaned I have bought a range of these pots for them to gain a good varied diet. This yummy Lancashire hot pot is one of the jars that I purchased. There were on a special at 9 for £5 which is a good deal for my daughter. She only eats half a jar at a time so the little jars are the best and perfect for her. The remainder of the jar is able to be stored in fridge for up to 48 hours this is good because I am able to have 2 pots open at a time to give her something different for her dinner and tea. The size of these jars are 125g. These are a stage 1 jar which is made smooth so that it is easy for your child to swallow. This is part of the meat range which is distinguished with a red lid with a picture of a leg of meat on the top. This range uses the meats pork, beef and lamb. This particular jar is made with lamb which I think is good for my child's development. The ingredients in this are carrots, potatoes, leek, peas, lamb, cooking water, apple juice and wheat starch. I think this is a good range of ingredients for my baby to eat and is getting her used to other flavours that I may not put in my own food. This contains wheat and soya. This is gluten free and has no added milk, lactose or egg. It has no added salt there are no artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives. This jar is ok for children who have a lactose or gluten deficiency which is good information to know because you know that your child is safe when eating this. The other reason that I like this range is because other mothers have recommended this and I like personal recommendations for my child. Cow and gate also have their own nutritionists who ensure that the best ingredients are used and are hand picked and specially grown for these dinners. My daughter hasn't been too keen on this flavour I am not sure if she is a fan of beef or lamb but will eat it better if it is warmed slightly for her. This is orange in colour and smells very nice when it is warmed. This does stain clothes or bibs so it is an idea to make sure you have some good stain remover when your child is eating this. I feel that my daughter is very safe when eating this and think that she is getting all that she needs in her diet. I trust this brand completely and the range of vegetables that is used in this jar is very varied. I like the fact that apple juice is used and the fact that this is smooth enough for her to swallow.
I used to buy this lancashire hot pot for my son all the time. He first started having this at around four months as he was a hungry baby. When he first started having this he would eat half a jar and i would store the other for the next day but as the months went on he would eat more and more. He used to really like this one and would have ate it every day if i had let him. I think he liked this one cause it had a really smooth texture and he found it quite hard to eat foods that had lumps in at the start. I enjoyed giving him this food as it had a number of different vegetables in it and meat so from a mums point of view he was getting all of the different nutrience he needed for a child of his age.
