My bubba coped really well with the milk, the only difference I noticed was that she was sick slightly more but she carried on to gain weight and the health visitor was happy and so was I. We moved on to stage 2 at around 4 months old, I was advised to do this by the health visitor as I was not happy to start weaning until 6 months old. I fo...more

Premium Review Cow & Gate Milk in General: Full Tums (409 words)
by - written on 20/09/09 (Very useful, 38 readings)
Rating:

When my bubba was born, I had problems feeding her. I really wanted to breastfeed her but I just could not, so I had to choose powdered milk. I found it a really hard time and then I had on top, deciding which milk was best when there are so many on the market. What I found out from doing a lot of research was that basically all baby milks are the same - they have the same or similiar ingredients. My choice was between SMA and Cow & Gate. I decided to go for Cow & Gate as it had added nutrients, plus I had heard quite a few negative comments about SMA. My girl was bang on time, so we went staright on to stage 1 after trying to breastfeed , ...  Read the complete review

When i found out i was pregnant i was really unsure as to which baby milk i would use, i knew it wasnt the right choice for me to breastfeed, however there are that many different baby milks on the market it was hard to tell which would be besy for baby. I do think that a lot of the baby milks are pretty much the same with regards to ingredients etc but i also liked that cow and gate had quiet a few different ranges and especially liked that it contained prebiotic care. I had heard a few bad thoughts about SMA so i decided to go with cow and gate. My girls were 4 weeks premature and because of weight were first put onto cow and gate nutriprem2 . ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cow & Gate Milk in General: Cow&Gate New 'munch bars' (765 words)

Rating:

I got a couple of the new Cow & Gate 'snack bars' as a free sample in a Bounty pack, and they're part of the Cow & Gate finger foods range. They come in 3 different flavours; Apple, Plum and the Multi-cereal and Milk bar. The samples I got were of the 'milk' bar and the plum one. so how good are they? All of the bars are made up of 4 equal size break-off type 'portions' and are very easy for little hands to hold and munch on..or squish it into the carpet..or feed it to the dog..or hide under the sofa for later..ha ha! The packaging states "For toddlers from 12 months old.." ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Stuff 'em up! (505 words)

One thing I have learnt during the first year of parenthood is that a baby's routine changes constantly, or certainly that was the case with my little one. Cow & Gate Good Night Milk helped me during one such difficult phase I was faced with at around the 6 month stage. After a couple of months of relatively peaceful nights, the baby began waking at night wanting an extra bottle. At the time, he was being well fed in the daytime, and we were happy that he was getting all that he wanted. After speaking to a friend, I was recommended to try using Cow & Gate Good Night Milk for the final feed of the day. Since we had always used SMA baby milk from when he was ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cow & Gate Milk in General: Runny mess (133 words)
by - written on 17/09/00 (Very useful, 73 readings)
Rating:

I would not recommend Cow and Gate dried baby food or jars. Eith variety seems to have very little substance and breaks down at the slightest amount of saliva on the spoon. By the time the food is half eaten it's inedible. It appears that this may be due to it being full of added starches and very little real food. On the occasions I have used packets or jars, Cow and Gate has not satisfied my babies hunger or his taste buds. I do not think the packets even approach the value for money I thought they would be in being able to make up small quantities, as after making on helping I have ended up throwing out the rest. I will not be buying any more Cow and Gate ...  Read the complete review
