Advantages: reasonably priced, easy packaging
Disadvantages: none
When i found out i was pregnant i was really unsure as to which baby milk i would use, i knew it wasnt the right choice for me to breastfeed, however there are that many different baby milks on the market it was hard to tell which would be besy for baby.
I do think that a lot of the baby milks are pretty much the same with regards to ingredients etc but i also liked that cow and gate had quiet a few different ranges and especially liked that it contained prebiotic care. I had heard a few bad thoughts about SMA so i decided to go with cow and gate.
My girls were 4 weeks premature and because of weight were first put onto cow and gate nutriprem2 . This contained a lot more nutrients etc to help them catch up. It also meant we had to get them on prescription which did in turn save us money. I then moved them onto stage 1 milk at around 6 weeks old as thats what id been advised to do by the healht visitor and consultants. the change didnt affect them at all and their weight gain was great. The at around 12 weeks old they were just so hungry so instead of trying to start weaning as it was too early we went onto stage 2 for hungrier babies. this helped a little and helped them go a little longer through the night but i still had to start weaning at 16 weeks old. Once they turned 6 months i moved to the stage 3, maily because i wanted to make sure they got all the nutrients etc they needed whcih is what stage 3 milk contains. I knew they were havign a really well balanced diet bu ti guess they can never have enough vitamins etc.
Ive never had any problems at all with cow and gate, their prices are reasonable however they do tend to change packaging frequently lol so juts check the box every time you buy it incase. Its changed 3 times sincei had my little ones 9 months ago lol. But their packaging is also so much easier to use as they have a plastic spoon inside but also a plastic part where u scrape the spoon to make sure its the correct amount (it definately saves using the knife to level it off.)
As for the goodnight milk i used this at around 6 months old to see if it helps them to go a little longer through the night, with 2 of them i felt t otally drained however it didnt seem to work if anything it made them wake more through the night.
When i have my next baby/babies i will defiantely be using cow and gate ive had no problems whatsoever with this.
Summary: Great baby milk through all the different stages i would definately use again!
