When my bubba was born, I had problems feeding her. I really wanted to breastfeed her but I just could not, so I had to choose powdered milk. I found it a really hard time and then I had on top, deciding which milk was best when there are so many on the market.

What I found out from doing a lot of research was that basically all baby milks are the same - they have the same or similiar ingredients. My choice was between SMA and Cow & Gate. I decided to go for Cow & Gate as it had added nutrients, plus I had heard quite a few negative comments about SMA.

My girl was bang on time, so we went staright on to stage 1 after trying to breastfeed , although Cow & Gate do a special formula milk with added nutrients to help for premature babies. My bubba coped really well with the milk, the only difference I noticed was that she was sick slightly more but she carried on to gain weight and the health visitor was happy and so was I.
We moved on to stage 2 at around 4 months old, I was advised to do this by the health visitor as I was not happy to start weaning until 6 months old. I found it a smooth transition and bubba slept for slightly longer during the night.

At 6 months, I moved on to stage 3, although I had started weaning, I wanted to know that she was still getting all the vitamins and nutrients that she needed. This basically supplemented her diet and I found that she again moved steadily to stage 3.

I did try the goodnight milk, just to see if it lived up to its claims, at that age you need all the sleep you can get but I personally did not see any difference from the ordinary milk, she just slept for the same amount of time.

I am really happy with Cow & Gate products on a whole. I find their pricing really reasonable about the same as other formula milk. They do tend to change their packaging regularly, so just check that you have picked up the right box. Inside the box, there is a plastic scoop so you know that you are feeding your baby the right amount.

Overall, I would use Cow & Gate again in the future.
