Advantages: Good Formula

Disadvantages: wastefull, expensive, time consuming

We started to use Farley's when my daughter was 10 weeks old. It is a very good formula, it contains LCP's and seemed to 'agree' with my daughter. It was also very reasonably priced, the least expensive brand on the market.
I used to buy it at £5.59 for a 900g tin.
Farley's have recently changed all of their packaging. Whilst they were reinventing their product, I was unable to purchase Farley's unless I found a shop which had old stock!
This was very inconveinent as you are not meant to keep changing the brand you give your baby! When it finally came back into stock, it had changed to the new Simplifeed system!
This consisted of a large box containing, a plastic mixing pot, a plastic plunger and 8 sachets of aproximaly 20oz each! The idea is that you make up 20oz of milk in the plastic pot, mix it with the plunger, and then either store the pot in the fridge, or tranfer the milk into bottles or beaker and store them in the fridge!
I found this system very restictive and you could only make up 20 oz of a milk at one time, for example if you baby drinks more than 20oz a day you would have make up 40oz, as there is no way of measuring any other amount! This also means there is a lot of waste! Also more time consuming as there was more sterlising, and you have to make the milk in one container and then tranfer it the baby's bottles or beaker, rather than make it directley into their feeders!
This new system also makes Farley's the most expensive brand on the market as 600g of formula now costs £4.85!
I will no longer be using Farley's!
