YUCK - WHAT ON EARTH DO THEY PUT IN THEIR TINS? (Heinz Baby Food)
Member Name: Parsley
Advantages: cheaper than some other makes Disadvantages: looks horrible, tastes horrible, sticky consistency, overly processed food
I initially started weaning my baby on packet "just add water" food, but then as he needed more meals per day, tried the Heinz cans for a bit of variety. What a disaster, my baby absolutely hates them (apart from the rice pudding). When I open the can, the contents tend to look absolutely disgusting, the fruit purees are a nasty non-descript brown colour and they taste absolutely horrible - I'm not surprised that my baby wrinkled his face up in horror and spat it out. When I tasted it, I thought this is disgusting - I wouldn't eat this muck so why am I giving it to my baby? The food seems overly processed, a very sticky consistency and unappetizing. The cans may be cheap, but it's no good if your baby isn't happy. I switched to the HIPP organic range and now my baby is happy - these jars are tasty (I could eat them!), they smell good, the food is a nice colour and healthy, there's no comparison, you pay for what you get and it's worth paying a bit more for better quality.
