Advantages: easy to use

Disadvantages: less tasty, less vitamins, less minerals

Well, it's not that I disagree with store bought Baby Foods, but when I tasted the baby foods in a bottle, I thought that they didn't really taste like the real thing. This is when I decided to grow my own vegetables. The first vegetables I pureed very well in a blender then I froze each portion in an ice cube tray. Later you don't need to blend so thoroughly. But, the vegetables tasted like the real thing and all the vitamins and minerals are there. I did the same thing with meat and fruit. My children weren't surprised by the taste of the real thing once they got their teeth.

Welcome to dooyoo! I'm sure your home-made foods are much nicer than the shop-bought varieties. At least you know exactly what is going into them.

Sorry to give you a Somewhat Useful rating but I was looking for more info on Heinz products. Maybe this opinion would be more at home in another category? I'll look forward to reading more of your reviews :-)

I too think that home made is much better apart from being much cheaper!
