Advantages: really yummy and you can have them in so many forms, a hot rusk drink for adults is lovely!

Disadvantages: they advertise suitable from 4 months but they contains gluten so they aren't!!!

Rusks! yummy! They aren't just for babies i tell you, they make a lovely hot drink or even just dipped in a cup of tea! My nephew (who is now 8) used to love rusks and i used to love them even more! So when my baby was around 3 months i suggested 'stocking' up on rusks ready for him when he was ready to be weaned. When he was ready i thought i should test them first just to check they tasted ok... and they did!!!
It's alot like a cup of horlicks when you have them as a hot drink it lovely!
However, when we took my little boy to the health visitor she agreed he was ready to be weaned but advised us not to give him anything containing gluten before he reached 6 month, so when i got home i checked everything we had bought in for gluten and to my amazement, even thpugh they said 'suitable from 4 months' alot of the jars of food and farley's rusks contained gluten!!! Obviously i haven't thrown them out as they will maybe keep until he is 6 month (if i don't eat them first) but i was quite shocked that research shows no gluten until 6 month and they advertise they are suitable from 4 months when really they are not!

Summary: Really nice and still traditional rusks even though they are heinz....

I shouldn't worry too much about the age thing, Rusks are fine from 4 months and Heinz would not DARE to say so if it wasn't correct.

My daughters' both had rusk ground up their bottles, it's frowned upon now but then we were advised to do so from about 3 weeks old.

I love them dipped in coffee.
