Advantages: Good healthy puree

Disadvantages: The cap

Since weaning our 7 month old, we have been flitting between different makes of purees, such as Heinz, Cow and Gate and Hipp. Now we have moved onto the stage 2 purees, which are aimed for 7-9 month olds.

I find that with most purees, whilst there is a lot of different flavours to choose from, and some sound very nice indeed, there's very little fish dishes. So that's why when I buy the purees, I will always buy this seafood pasta, to try and broaden my sons horizons and tastes.

The Heinz purees come in a taller jar, with a air tight locked lid. Talking about the lid, it doesn't so much screw on, so if you are only going to use half at a time, make sure the lid goes back on properly, as they don't screw very well I have found.

The seafood pasta itself has a very distinctive fishy smell to it which is good. You can certainly smell the tuna, and I think it actually smells quite healthy.

The texture is quite lumpy, without any visible hard bits-I have found that these stage 2 purees by Heinz are actually more pureed than other makes, so I would say that they make a good transition in-between the all puree stage 1's, and other brands stage 2's.
The puree is quite stodgy, so it sticks to the spoon well. I must say our son really likes this flavour, and he gobbles it all up! I also find that it seems to fill him up and really satisfy him too.

Overall I would say that this is a healthy puree, and a good way of getting them trying and experiencing new flavours.

Summary: A good fish puree
