You will see why I have chosen this title when you read this op.

As you all know that bringing up your child is the most difficult thing to do. In my opinion, I believe that bringing up your child is more difficult than giving birth to them. Why? Read on...

Well first of all I would briefly like to tell you what sort of situation I was in when my son was born.

I had no one to hold on to during labour as my dearest couldn't be with me due to a certain situation. Ok thats fine. My son had to chose the hottest day of the year to come.

Anyway, after suffering for so many hours, he was born. I could hardly open my eyes. The nurse came to me to showm me my boy.
'Congratulations! you have a boy!.' I am like ' ye whatever!' Don't get me wrong but I had no energy left and was so much in pain.

The nurses in hospital were nice. They looked after my son for the first night so I could get my rest.

As we all know time flies. My son was one year old Which means that I had started giving him some baby food. Although I did give him some home made food.

I was told by my aunt that Organic food is very good for babies. So I went out and got some Hipp Organic baby food. I also remember the flavour, Tomato. Prepared it and started feeding my dear son.

After about half an hour my son started itching everywhere. Especially his eyes and ears. The next thing I see is his ears swollen like Elephant's Ear.

I dashed to the phone and dialled the emergency number. The nurse there advised me to take my son to the hospital in Emergency.

So I quickly pulled the pushchair out. Put him in the pushchair and ran for a bus. Unfortunately I don't drive.

We were at the hospital in 10 minutes time.

Rushed to the Emergency section. Gave his details and the receptionist asked me to wait in the reception. Half an hour gone but no sign of
doctor yet. After long wait, the doctor called my son's name.

Atlast! He examined him and said that 'Your son is allergic to Organic food'. Great! so I can't even feed him organic? The doctor strictly said no.

My point is that we try to give our kids the best food that is available (and they cost a lot as well). But is it really the best for them?

If you like this op, please drop in a comment.

Cheers!

Hi,

Sorry but it seems highly unlikely that somebody is alergic to organic food. organic is a general term describing the way food was produced; allergies are caused by body reacting incorrectly to some fairly specific substance; usually a protein of some kind.

Organic can describe virtually anything from bread to apple to beef to egg to milk to onion and there isn't a single substance that is common to all organic foods that could possibly result in organic-food allergy.

If your doctor said something like that he was either (1) incredibly incomepetent (2) taking the pisss (3) both.

As a new mother of a four week old baby girl I empathise with your concerns for your son, but I found your review alarming.

To be 'organic' means simply to be free from synthetic additives, chemicals and treatments such as pesticides, herbicides, growth promoters, genetic modification and other non-natural processes such as irradiation. All food was originally 'organic', it is nothing new, in fact chemically produced food should be labelled as such and organic should be the norm... not the other way around. It was only around the time of the second world war when Britain became worried about producing sufficient home grown food that widespread use of chemicals was introduced.

I cannot understand how your son could be said to be 'allergic to organic' as this implies that the absence of such contaminants is the cause of his unusual ear problem. It seems to me that he is most likely to be intolerant of one of the ingredients of the given food, or indeed the cause may have been unrelated to that meal.

I would be interested to hear other's views on this.

Alot of personal opinion here but not much in the way of actual information.
