Advantages: Looks and tastes nice

Disadvantages: None

Since my cousin was born and I took on baby sitting duties I was always concerned with what to feed him, I'd always offer to buy the food (to save my cousin's mother) but I didn't exactly know what to feed a baby! Yes....I knew they ate "baby food" but what food exactly?!! After speaking to her about it I looked at the Hipp range and I bought quite a few jars purely because I knew I'd be looking after him alot.

One of these jars was the Organic Banana Custard which surely you cannot go wrong with custard! Organic Banana Custard is a Stage 1 food which is for children from the age of 4 months old. I chose to go with the organic custard because I thought this would be an easy pudding for my cousin.

*~*~ What Hipp say*~*~*

A delicious banana dessert made with organic whole milk

*~*~*Ingredients*~*~*

Organic whole milk (70%), water, organic sugar, organic bananas (4%), organic rice starch, organic rice flour

*~*~*Packaging*~*~*

As with most of Hipp foods it comes in a small glass jar with a screw snap top. When buying ensure that this top is screwed completely on and has not been tampered with. The label is colourful with pictures of bananas one and with the ingredients listed on the back.

*~*~*The Product*~*~*

On opening the jar you instantly smell the bananas, which is always a good thing! The lovely smell is quite soft and delicate but creamy all at the same time. The consistency is what you would expect from a yoghurt, smooth and thick yet not too thick where it won't come off the spoon! Because this is a stage 1 pudding you won't find any lumps or bumps so this is a really smooth custard.

*~*~*The Verdict*~*~*

My cousin is not a fussy eater so its normally really easy to find something that he will eat happily. And this pudding certainly didn't disappoint, he ate the majority of the 125g jar! I too tried it myself, as it wouldn't be fair writing a review about something I have never tried! Now it certainly wasn't too my taste! But the custard was soft and smooth in texture with a mild banana flavour.

*~*~*Price*~*~*

The Organic Banana Custard is available from all supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda) and ranges from 52p - 66p per 125g jar.

*~*~*Overall*~*~*

The fact that my cousin ate most of the jar must be a good thing! I like the fact that the jar is in a handy size and that it's easily transportable. Please note however if the whole jar has not been used you can only refrigerate it for 24 hours. I have since bought a few jars since buying the first one and every single jar has gone down well with him!

Summary: A great little pudding for your little pudding!
