bland and tasteless one to avoid

My daughter absolutely loves porridge and as has been really enjoying the HIPP Organic range so I decided to buy her a few jars of their Creamed Porridge thinking it would be a sure fire hit. Having been in hospital and needing to rest, I thought it would be quicker than making porridge up and waiting for it to cool, and be easier should Nannie give her breakfast as we could just grab a jar. How wrong could I be!

The Hipp Organic Creamy Porridge Breakfast comes in 190g jar and costs around 90p. It is suitable from 7 months and is widely available in supermarkets, chemists and online. It has no added sugars, no GM or preservatives and is suitable for vegetarians.

The porridge itself is a pale cream colour and is the consistency of jelly and is very smooth. It has no smell.

My daughter took a dislike to it after and after a few mouthfuls refused to eat it. I was most surprised as this is really unlike her. Upon tasting it myself I can see why! It is bland tasteless mush. I appreciate porridge is not normally full of flavour but this is quite honestly the worst baby porridge I have tried. It certainly does not taste creamy- to me it almost tasted watery. When presented with another breakfast my daughter rather quickly devoured it so she was certainly hungry- just not for bland mush- and I certainly can't blamer her as I would not eat it either.

I was really disappointed as we have tried countless HIPP Organic jars and been very impressed and this was a big let down and one we certainly won't be buying again.
