Advantages: Low-salt, wheat-free, gluten-free

Disadvantages: Expensive, a bit messy

These are fabulous when you have a small child who wants a bag of crisps like his older sibling, and you don't want him to have all the salt in the 'real' crisps. Even better if you can persuade the older child to have these too, I suppose.

The main advantage of these crisps is that they have less salt. They have 0.3g of sodium in a 100g. I compare this to 0.6g in a 100g in Tesco Value Ready Salted Crisps. They are also lower fat (18g instead of 34g) but that doesn't really matter - children need fat!

My children liked to eat them so I guess they taste ok! They are little corn puff things so easy to hold and bite/chew. They are covered in powdery stuff so they can be a bit messy (think Wotsits, but not orange!).

The ingredients are listed as: Organic Corn 71%, Organic Sunflower Oil 15%, Organic Cheese Powder 12% (50% Organic Mature Cheddar Cheese, 50% Organic Skimmed Milk Powder), Organic Dried Parsley Less Than 1%, Junk 0%, TOTAL 100%, Sea Salt has no organic certification.

Wheat-free, gluten-free, and organic. No MSG either.

It says they are suitable from 12 months, although I don't see any reason why a younger child couldn't eat these.

At 33p for a 15g bag they're a lot more expensive than a normal bag of crisps, though.
