yummy fruit pouches for on the go

With an older child to run around after it's always good to have snack foods for the younger one to have on the go. I have had other squeezy fruit puree pouches by other companies which were good but the flavours from Organix Goodies stood out. Things like Mango are great as it's a new taste. I regularly have dried mango in the kitchen but fresh mango I find a hassle most days.

My son is a few months short of turning two and he can sit there by himself and squish up the fruit puree. It did take him a couple goes before learning how to get the puree at the bottom of the pouch but he's got the hang of it now.

The pouches themselves are brightly coloured and show have cartoon pictures of the fruit on the front. Suitable for children 12 months plus. From Boots the pouches are priced at 89p each.

      Organix no junk promise:
      No added sugar
      No artificial colours or flavours
      100% organic fruit

One thing I noticed when looking at the ingredients is Ascorbic Acid (antioxidant) and on the Boots web page it has a star next to it saying that this ingredient has no organic certification (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_certification). I've looked the ingredient up to help anyone who wishes to know more information and it seems to be a sweetening acid and preservative (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascorbic_acid ). I still can't figure out which form exactly is used but it's merely a trace ingredient and not something I personally would waste time worrying about.

      1 pouch = 1 of your 5 a day

      Available flavours:
      Kiwi, pear & banana
      Mango, pear & orange
      Strawberry, banana & pear
