Advantages: Really lovely taste, good size and no nasties

Disadvantages: Bit pricey and not that easy to find

When my boy was tiny, I was scared stupid by a dental talk about the horrors of many yoghurts aimed specifically at the children's market, due to the amount of sugar included in them. Sure enough, when it came to weaning, I searched high and low on the supermarket shelves and couldn't find any products without sugar in them.

So for months, I went through the faff of pureeing fruit and adding it to pure unsweetened natural yoghurt. Now this was OK, but really there is more to life than constant pureeing. A friend realised my dilemma and recommended these yoghurts to me, so off I popped to Waitrose and found these on the shelf. Sure enough, emblazoned across the packaging is the message that there is no refined sugar included, so I popped them in my trolley and went home.

When I got home, I was pleased to see that the yoghurts are a generous 90g size, which are a good sized dessert, rather than the traditional kid's size which just give you two teaspoon fulls.

The yoghurts come in four flavours - raspberry, banana, strawberry and mango, and each yoghurt has at least 12% fruit puree in them. The resulting taste is a really fruity, tasty yoghurt, loved not just by my boy, but also, chief taster - Mum!

The yoghurts are sweetened by either apple or pear juice concentrate rather than sugar, so although they are sweet enough to enjoy, you can actually taste the fruit rather than the artificial overly sweet flavour of sugar that most kid's yoghurts taste of.

As you can probably tell, I am a real fan of these yoghurts. As well as no refined sugar, these yoghurts also are GM Free, have no additives, colours or preservatives, gluten free and suitable for vegetarians, so you can feed your wee one these with a clear conscience.

These aren't the cheapest product on the market (around £1.60 for four) and I have only been able to find these in Waitrose so not that widely available, but well worth seeking out to miss out all that pureeing!

Summary: Great product if you want to limit your little one's sugar intake
